Has James Tobin left the show then? I haven’t seen him mentioned in ages

Johanna posted on Instagram yesterday, paying tribute to Karen Martini who is stepping back from the show.

Parts of tonight’s season premiere was filmed at Petersham Bowling Club in Sydney’s inner west, where Colin mingled with the rest of the show’s cast.

A very rare, first I’d ever seen I think, “switch now” message (like H&A) just then right on 7pm after news in Melbourne but for BH&G (usually always on the main channel even in Melbourne for 30min with AFL pre game usually always on 7mate - according to Aaron just for the first week or two). But instead of the younger male network v/o it was the female one this time and she hammed it up for footy viewers when she said the main channel countdown clock bit. @TV.Cynic

BH&G promo in Melbourne for tomorrow night also incorrect, showing 7Two, it’s actually back to main channel (first 30min)

According to online guides (both Seven and Your TV), BH&G will air on 7two in Melbourne tomorrow from 7pm.

Sydney have become Melbourne tonight, receiving BH&G on main channel for 30min, with a half-screen “change channel” message at 7:30pm and switch to 7Two, with Swans AFL game on main channel from then (pre game 7mate). Tonight’s movie will be on 7mate from 7:30pm, as per Melbourne and Adelaide.

While Melbourne got a full-screen and v/o message again after news at 7pm to “switch now” to 7Two for BH&G, with AFL pre game on main channel from 7pm.

There is a 6-page special in this week’s issue of Woman’s Day, celebrating the show’s 30th year.

This is one of three articles from the magazine.

Fascinating comment from Graham Ross about its earlier days and Tuesday nights and Friends.

In all seriousness, didn’t BH&G genuinely ‘knock off’ long-timer Burke’s Backyard, IIRC once moving to its current timeslot of 20 years, Friday evenings ‘after the tennis’ in 2005 also Griggs’ debut, in an iconic year for the network and FTA TV in general, arguably the industry and wider-entertainment sector’s peak era.

Massive episode this week, featuring the annual Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, the Good Friday Appeal charity auction house, and Easter food.

It’s rare all these themes come together at one episode.

I believe Nine now sponsor the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Seven must have let this one go.

BH&G is still listed as the show’s sponsor this year, otherwise they wouldn’t have been filming there earlier this month.

Nine used to sponsor the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 20 years ago.

Sam Mac was also on Sunrise at MIFGS with Charlie from Better Homes this morning talking about the show filming there this week and being on air tonight.

Not sure what’s going on. But I did see an advertisement saying Nine are sponsoring this years event. Nine had a special on last night in Melbourne with the Garden Gurus.

Dual sponsorships maybe? As strange and rare as that is.

Not often seen with a recorded program, the exact same program on two completely different channels (not just LCN’s but names/play-out/presentation) in BH&G on main channel and 7Two in Melbourne now, but from the start (7pm) on both. I guess just in case viewers think its on the m/c in full now with the earlier AFL first bounce time plus the last couple of weeks which had the lifestyle show only on 7Two. And in terms of the sync they’d have to for the ad breaks and switch timing, as well as national playouts.

It’s quite common now. Seven and 10 sponsor this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show, and Nine and the ABC have been sponsoring the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the past couple of years.

Dual sponsorship is not rare at all. It’s always been around.
