How come Sunrise doesn’t have Chinese themed set like they did for Tokyo 2020ne?

Great sets. Shame we never ever get close to that over here. Seven have not had a real set in years. Even their GC comm games was a desk and a screen.

Arguably the last two proper sets from IBC’s were Sochi and Glasgow for 10.

Yeah I was really disappointed with seven and what they did for the commonwealth games. They had a great opportunity to have an OB right in the heart of the GC like Nine for the AO but decided otherwise

A camera showing the Olympic Cauldron burning outside the Bird’s Nest since Saturday.

That’s an interesting Olympic Cauldron

The Freestyle Skiing venue has attracted a lot of attention on social media with its industrial setting including a nuclear power plant backdrop.

The cauldron was assembled during the Opening Ceremony and was moved outside the stadium since Saturday at the Medals Plaza. Quite an interesting looking cauldron and one of the most unique ones. 2008’s is on permanent display outside the Bird’s Nest but not lit up.

Where is the flame? It doesn’t seem to be visible in that shot.

The flame is in the middle of the snowflake.

It’s an interesting sculpture but sticking a regular torch in the middle does not make it a cauldron. That was a complete anti-climax.

Re: NBC. Think they’re sets are rather ugly myself but good to see it’s not just the BBC who have turned down the heating and making their presenters dress up for winter.

Seven had pre-empted their scheduled afternoon programming to show the Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe qualifying.

Edit: Sydney, Melbourne at 5:30 and Adelaide at 5:00 went to The Chase. Brisbane stayed with the Olympics.

Due to this, Gold Coast news started at 5:28, straight after the Olympics.

I notice that during Nine News (4pm and 6pm) that the Nine watermark is removed for the duration of their reporting even when the sourse isn’t Seven’s coverage.

Doesn’t happen on 10 or ABC

BTW it’s a steal mill, not a nuclear power plant. And it’s been shut down in 2008 and since has been redeveloped

That’s interesting. I wonder if something happened off-air or if Nine are just being extra cautious (knowing what Seven are like )

I do find it disappointing though, how (initially before stopping) Seven Sydney were showing Australian Open vision without Nine’s watermark (even though they hold exclusive rights). Yet, even though IOC is obviously very different, when it’s this other way around Nine do everything by the book and play fair, and then some.
