Sounds like a political decision.

No. Sounds like a concept that has run out of steam and viewer interest.

Michael Sheen has been confirmed as the host for the next series of BBC Two and BBC iPlayer’s House of Games (produced by Banijay UK’s Remarkable Entertainment). The announcement comes following Richard Osman’s decision to step down having presented the series for the past nine years.

Sheen’s signing marks the multi-award-winning actor’s debut as quiz show host. He will preside over the recording of 100 episodes that will be broadcast later this year.

And here we are.

If you tell me even just a few days ago that BBC’s new DG announcement would be on ABC NC, let alone being the top story of the hour…

On Wednesday, the BBC’s chief content officer Kate Phillips said the ECU “found this should not have made it to air and it was a clear breach of our editorial standards”. However, she noted, it also “found the breach was not intentional”.

The ECU received “a large number of complaints” about the BBC’s Baftas coverage, and upheld those relating to editorial standards on harm and offence.

Last month, outgoing director general Tim Davie said the BBC “profoundly regrets” what happened, adding that the team editing the ceremony had not heard the word and did not intentionally leave it in.

Er…‘Should not have made it to air’, more like should’ve not invited whoever made that outrageous slur in the first place. That person should be blacklisted from these sorts of events from now on for that kind of disgusting behaviour.

Sorry - do you know the background on this? it was a person with Tourette Syndrome who did it involuntarily?

I heard something about it and having worked with people that have similar issues, yes it’s sometimes unstoppable or unpreventable but it doesn’t make it any more acceptable.

Bunkum.

The BBC was able to edit out pro-Palestine messaging, they could easily have edited out these words. Or, better yet, not put a live microphone in front of him.

And they’re also replacing BBC First in Belgium with a localised channel, exactly a year after doing so in The Netherlands:
