Tech Now will succeed Click in March 29. A relief that they’re continuing that stream of reporting, but not sure why they waited a while after Click axed.
Apparently, according to local tabloids, it was announced in Newswatch last week.
The branding is not good too: An Xbox 360 ring lookalike. The name’s very generic - a sister to News Now, sure, but they have a newletter named Tech Decoded, so why not that? A variant of that has appeared in The Context (before the newsletter) anyways…
Because that would make too much sense. This is the BBC we’re talking about, after all…

God, what a downgrade. That just looks cheap and nasty. All of it. And I still don’t understand why they changed the logo… the new one just looks like a cheap copy of the old one.
The titles look less intricate - it’s like they got the gear icon asset on Illustrator to spin. Would like to see it animated more like this, with more layers and depth (but that’ll make it more like a reskin of the old branding…)

The old gears still linger in the bumper and rundown menus too, with the latter using the all-red blocks and wordmark. Inconsistencies right off the rebrand?
