Random Mocks

Decided to take things into my own hands after seeing the Click replacement aired… Based on their neon green block pattern they have in promoting the newsletter in the UK, and developed an abbreviated symbol around it.

Some preamble around it can be like When Click started 25 years ago, the internet was still in its infancy - hence the name that indicates our motion in getting onto it. Over the years, we’ve been on all technologies big and small - from smartphones to VR headsets, from fibre optics to 5G, from wind turbines to electric cars. And especially with the latest innovations coming in between the coding lines - blockchain and generative AI - we need to catch up with our name. They also generated a lot of buzzwords, leading to anticipation and confusion. You’ll need a looking glass to see through all the latest in this industry - and we have a new look to bring that to you. Welcome to Tech Decoded.
(not ChatGPT generated BTW :joy:)

The rectangle behind decoded_ was randomly inspired by how the colours inverted when highlighting the text, and the shade of red that might feel like tying to the main BBC News brand

Kept a similar styling to the supers. Not sure about the symbol shaped like an app icon, though.

The redesigned credits and ECP, if they wished to do a cross promotion with their newsletter as a ‘synergy strategy’ or something like that. The more playful grid one is for overseas, while the domestic one follows a stricter branding accord. As for the former, I envision it to be like running through a ‘tunnel’, from the holes in the BD symbol, and leaving the ‘looking glass’.

I even mocked up the BBC’s programme profile page using HTML editor for the text!
