BBC News/World News

BBC News Channel is actually visually so ugly and such an awful viewing experience it’s actually enough to make me tune away and avoid it

Not many on air looks that bad.

If only they could look to msnbc for inspo

even after a year im still not happy with that constant red bar for the main super…. what they had before with the clear black background was better on the eye

and also hate their constant tweaking to their (now) 16 year old titles, they were never meant for the Chameleon design language!

they desperately need an overhaul to their on-air graphics

100% agree. It almost makes me physically sick.

What I really don’t understand, are those who think it looks good. How? Do they even have eyes? (Don’t answer that…)

I suspect this is all down to BBC News’ Creative Director (ha!), a gentleman named Chris Cook. Nothing against him, I am led to believe he is a lovely fella… but he’s not a creative. His background is in broadcast engineering. And it shows. He has no idea what looks good and what doesn’t… which leads us to the mess BBC News is in now.

(And as for Sky… they try, but seriously miss the mark. One day they’ll learn that their backdrops should have depth…)

As a CD myself, the explanation you give makes sense.

I thought Erron Gordon would be their new CD - but sounds like they’ve got aN engineer in the role - which explains why everything is so fugly over there

Christ, look how tidy and nonintrusive that is. Bring it back.

BBC News seems to be keen on covering people waiting in the queue to buy Oasis tickets online in mindnumbing detail.

And it was leaked to the Daily Telegraph. Quelle surprise. One of the most virulently pro-Israel publications in Europe. I’m suspicious about this report. If they think they think the BBC are bad, I’d hate to hear what they’d think of Al Jazeera.

Huw Edwards, once the BBC‘s highest-paid news anchor, has received a six-month suspended prison sentence and apologized for the “repugnant” nature of his offenses after pleading guilty to being in possession of child abuse images earlier this year.

He should still repay his salary IMO.

He should

But this is a man with an disgustingly southward plunging moral compass

He will take the public’s money and buy a mansion in the countryside to shield from public life

Has the American set been updated?

This angle looks good.

Speaking of WNA, it’s to be extended as BBC puts more effort to US Election coverage (some programmes, more podcasts):

I’m really missing bbc news since it left Foxtel. Is there any way to watch on my TV easily?
