BBC News/World News

Breakfast and Sportsday look fantastic.

New red bar that completely removes the distinction for breaking news is silly.

Combined BBC News channels output is okay. It was pretty compelling viewing over the weekend with the Russian mutiny. I can’t speak to the content outside of major breaking news.

Love the new set up.

So has breakfast vacated their previous studio within MediaCityUK and now shares what used to be exclusively the BBC Sports studio?

Just making assumptions given the BBC Sport angle features the sports newsroom backdrop behind.

Right ok, missed that.

If it is who I have been told it is, then they are BBC News.

The BBC presenter scandal has new developments affecting BBC News directly.

I think, realistically, Huw won’t return.

I think it’s time BBC made a woman the lead anchor, and I think it should be Fiona Bruce. She’d have to farewell Antiques Roadshow etc but it think moving forward it’d be the right thing for them to do.

More likely Jane Hill. Fiona doesnt seem to present much, often once a week. She also hosts Question Time on a Thursday night.

Jane almost got the chop this year and I don’t know how often she does the six or ten. My pick is Sophie Raworth.

Yes, but if they came to her and said here’s a new job, it’s our highest paid and most senior news position, I am sure she’d consider making it work.
It’s quite common for people to move up the ranks in their job and as a result leave other positions/responsibilities.

I’ve always felt Clive Myrie would’ve been next in line after Huw

Feels like Clive Myrie might be Huw’s replacement after all of this. I see him fill in more often than others.

I guess others, like Fiona, have other things on the go at the moment.
But I think in terms of reputation and experience, she’d be the best person for the top job.

And the old BBC Gill Sans logo lives on… what in the world indeed.

Not sure if the World Service has officially rebranded yet.

Speaking of things that makes people ask “What in the world?”:
