Australia's Got Talent

They should not be paid their full payment when the crew get nothing. The crew would have been working long before the judges. Nice pay check for doing f all.

Means they have good contract negotiators and clauses which 7 would need to honour. Really sucks for the crew.

Well instead of giving them their full payments and giving up they could’ve found ways to reinvigorate the show to adapt to the situation. But then again this is Seven we’re talking about. Innovation is hardly their A game and they just prefer to do things ‘the old way’

Potentially canning the show again for a second year is not a good look, the format has been off air for a while and surely they could have found a work around to still getting it to go ahead with precautions in place. Let alone all the efforts of staff etc to prepare for the series and work lined up.

Or said stars getting paid $1 mil for a 2 week holiday in Australia could forfeit their pay and help the crew out who have no jobs and are stuck in a lockdown and uncertainty of when they will get their next gig.

Total dogshit move from Fremantle but quelle surprise.

A representative on behalf of Alesha told the Mirror: "Obviously its extremely disappointing that filming of the show has been postponed due to the outbreak of covid in Australia, but the safety of the audience, talent and crew is the priority.

"The production team from AGT have been fantastic and looked at every option to try and make the show work, but unfortunately it’s impossible to do it and keep everyone safe. I look forward to returning once it is safe to do so.

“I’d like to thank the fantastic team at Seven network for looking after us so well and making me feel so welcome in Australia.”

Judging by her Instagram, Alesha Dixon appears to still be in Sydney with her family, even though it’s been three weeks since the news that AGT had been postponed.

Maybe the show might still be going ahead after all, or Alesha has been signed onto another Australian show?

Is she able to fly out though if Sydney is still in lockdown?

She’s been back in the UK a little while, she was on The One Show (similar to The Project on the BBC) in studio late last week.

nEW FOR 2022

After a false start this year (thanks COVID), AGT will be back on Seven and 7plus in 2022. In a world first, Aussie acts will take on some of the best Got Talent champions from around the globe and deliver all the spectacular, surprising and must-see moments Australian families love. Ricki-Lee Coulter returns as host, along with an all-star judging panel. AGT is a Fremantle Australia production for the Seven Network.

Kyle Sandilands mentioned on his radio show this morning that Seven still paid him for his two guest appearances that never eventuated on AGT because of cancellations due to covid. Lucky guy.

The hybrid Champions / local format just sounds terrible really - and Got Talent acts going from one to another auditioning is nothing new anyway. Surely after however long off air, and still with the optics of international travel to consider, even if by the time that airs that’ll hopefully be a thing of the past, concentrating on local talent would be wise. Or go the opposite route and like with DWTS rely on nostalgia and do a full blown Champions season with the AGT alumni and international acts. I think one or the other is the best option. Seven (and Australian networks in general) need to realise that there is a reason other countries haven’t done their “World Firsts” beforehand.

I know it would be a pipe dream at best but imagine if Seven could get the lineup of judges they planned to have last year for this year? Would give the show the best chance of success. They also need to air it towards the end of the year, preferably after The Block finishes.

Wouldn’t it be better if Seven just did one or two talent shows well rather than three or four rushed, pre-recorded and on the cheap?

Any word on judges or we rolling with the same panel as we were getting last year?

Filming for the new season will finally take place at Sydney Coliseum in Rooty Hill from June 23 to 29 (no show on June 25), according to That’s the Ticket website. Each day will have an afternoon session and an evening session.

According to The Sunday Telegraph, David Walliams will join the judging panel for this season, alongside Alesha Dixon, Shane Jacobson and Kate Ritchie. Walliams, who has been a judge on Britain’s Got Talent for 10 years, replaces Neil Patrick Harris.
