Isn’t delta signed with nine?
The only Nine program I remember Delta Goodrem being part of was The Voice…which of course, has since moved to Seven for this year.
Delta decided to leave The Voice after the show moved to Seven. She did say her production company Atled Productions would be producing specials for Nine but there had been no update on that front, as she had been putting the finishing finishes to the audio version of her book Bridge Over Troubled Dreams.
Looking at the picture, I’m thinking Shane Jacobson, Joel Creasey, and Natalie Bassingthwaite.
Just can’t quite figure out the second woman yet. It won’t be Dannii. Can’t see 10 allowing her to take part. Imagine if The Masked Singer and Australia’s Got Talent were on air at the same time?
Taking a look at the shadows again, I know that a lot of us have said the male on the far left is Shane Jacobson, but I wonder if it could be Kyle Sandilands?
Or Manu?
Sonia Krugar as a judge? I hear she is looking for work on Seven…
Wasn’t she supposed to be last year?
Neil Patrick Harris is a big name and he’s very funny. Kate Ritchie might struggle on a live show like this. She’s not often confident putting her own opinion out there on radio. I don’t know Alesha Dixon.
Have TV Tonight gone and released the judges before AGT did on their social media?
I must say that panel is a bit of a let down.
Kate Ritchie was relevant like 5-10 years ago when she last appeared on Home and Away (yes, I know she’s on Nova’s drive program) and I’m not a huge fan of her to be honest.
Alesha Dixon is alright. I reckon she’s appearing on AGT because Britain’s Got Talent was cancelled for 2021 due to the pandemic, so therefore she had the time to do this and might’ve had a contract to fulfil so they asked her to come on the Australian version.
Can’t say I’ve heard of Neil Patrick Harris.
Shane Jacobson is okay, nice to have at least one judge returning I guess. He’s good with the kids and seems like a genuinely nice guy.
Nice to have some fresh faces. At least the complainers can’t say it’s the same old… they’ll just whinge about something else.
Good to see Kate back on TV and after years of radio experience, I think she’ll be very good.
No Manu Feildel. Guessing he is busy with SAS Australia
I do not know if they finished filming season 2 of SAS Australia yet though
That is a really good lineup. Neil Patrick Harris is a major signing!
This comment explains a lot.
I think Kate will be great. She’s very funny on Nova. And still relevant in that market.
Shane annoys me to the point it’ll be very hard to even want to watch this.
All-star judges for all-new AGT
Neil Patrick Harris, Kate Ritchie and Alesha Dixon join Shane Jacobson
The Seven Network today announced the star-studded judging panel for AGT , plus a world-first twist to the hugely popular series in which Aussie acts will take on some of the best Got Talent champions from around the globe.
The stellar line-up includes celebrated Emmy and Tony Award-winning performer Neil Patrick Harris; much-loved actor and radio host Kate Ritchie; multi-platinum selling recording artist Alesha Dixon, star of Britain’s Got Talent and A merica’s Got Talent: The Champions ; and, making a very welcome return to AGT , actor and entertainer Shane Jacobson.
Neil Patrick Harris is an acclaimed star of stage and screen whose numerous television credits include How I Met Your Mother, It’s A Sin, A Series of Unfortunate Events and Doogie Howser, M.D… On film, he has appeared in Gone Girl , The Smurfs and the upcoming The Matrix 4 . Neil has also famously hosted the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards and Tony Awards.
Neil said: “To say I’m a fan of the AGT franchise is an understatement – I’ve been watching since the very first season! I’m a performer who has taken many stages throughout the, well, many stages of my career – be it acting, singing, dancing, hosting, juggling, magic-ing, even breathing fire! – and I have developed enormous respect for anyone with the courage to pursue their talents and passions at any level, let alone televised on a national stage.
“Australia has phenomenal talent across so many disciplines, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to join AGT in 2021 to see firsthand what the country’s awesome contestants have to offer.”
Making her return to series television for the first time since 2013, Kate Ritchie said: “People have spent more time at home than usual this past year. Some developed brand new skills and others fine-tuned their already spectacular talents! I am not only flattered to be sharing the AGT panel with this season’s line-up but super excited to see the incredible talent Australia has to offer… from what I believe to be the best seat in the house!”
Alesha Dixon, who has notched up an incredible nine years as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent after being hand-picked by creator Simon Cowell, said: “I’m super excited to be joining the panel at AGT . I can’t wait to see what talent Australia has to give and I’m really looking forward to working with my fellow judges.”
Shane Jacobson added: “I am thrilled to be back as a judge for AGT and I’m beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside the other wonderful judges who are joining the family.”
Joining the all-star panel is multi-platinum selling artist Ricki-Lee, who returns tothe AGT stage as host, as well as several celebrity guest judges to be announced soon.
AGT sees some of Australia’s best entertainers go head-to-head with the world’s most memorable Got Talent acts from around the world. With everyone vying to be crowned the ultimate champion, who will walk away with the $100,000 prize?
Seven’s Director of Network Programming, Angus Ross, said: “This is AGT on a scale like never before – to be the best, you have to beat the best. Alongside the judging panel’s world-class talent, AGT promises to deliver world-class acts, with all the spectacular, surprising and must-see moments Australian families absolutely love.”
Fremantle Australia Director of Unscripted, Jonathon Summerhayes, said: “We’re delighted to welcome this megastar judging panel to AGT. This show is a juggernaut that uncovers acts who resonate around the world and we can’t wait to shine a spotlight on some incredible Australian and international talent.”
I take that back. After reading what films he’s been in and seeing an image of him, I realise that I have definitely heard of him and watched him before, just couldn’t put a name to the face. It was 7:00am when I made that post, to be fair, lol.
On another note, is Ricki Lee confirmed as host? What’s not to say Seven will quietly slide their golden girl Sonia Kruger into the slot instead?
On another note, is Ricki Lee confirmed as host?
Per above Press Release, yes.
Kate Ritchie making a comeback on TV years after leaving H&A. Only Shane Jacobson returning from the last series.
I think it’s pretty good panel. Britain’s got talent has done ok business for 7 last few years so she is familiar to the fans of the franchise.
Kate will be great I think. Love her on the radio and she can plug the show to that national audience every afternoon.
Neil is a huge signing for the network. Academy award host has a nice ring to it for an AGT judge.
Shane is fine to me. I wouldn’t put him in there but he clearly appeals to a section of the audience.
I must say that panel is a bit of a let down.
Just curious who would you have liked to see?
They certainly weren’t kidding when they mentioned superstar judges. I think this panel is great (bar Shane). Neil Patrick Harris has a great personality and a popular star who will certainly draw a crowd, Kate Ritchie is very familiar to Seven’s audience whilst Aleisha Dixon is very experienced at judging given her experience on Britain’s Got Talent.
Now let’s hope this year they will do the show properly and show us the bad acts as well as the good ones, plus do the finals properly as live or at least make it more exciting than 2019’s underwhelming season.
