Australian Survivor

Shaun is engaged to Megan Gale but they have not planned to marry yet.
I thought Janine should have gone as she provided wrong advice to fellow castaways at the immunity challenge.

He definitely is not on the wrong tribe. He is not a champion at all. He could barely get a game for the teams he played and would be an insult if they classed him as a champion.

He said last night that he played 98 AFL games, just missing out on the magic 100 due to injury. That means he played at least 4-5 seasons. How is that not classed as a Champion? He is more of a champion than Luke is.

He didnā€™t play in a GF nor did he win a brownlow. He is not a champion.

Stephen Tate reveals interesting facts on casting, filming and post production.

He actually played those 98 games over 12 seasons so not really a champion, more just a workhorse. I think it was his decision as he seems a really humble guy and would have been embarrassed to be called a champion. I do agree Luke is not a champion but he does amuse me with some of the things he says. Last nightā€™s farewell to Susie was a gem, ā€œgood luck on your next swim, all the way back to Australiaā€. I too am ā€œbarrackingā€ for Janine, she is a champion in every sense of the word. So pleased she didnā€™t go last night.
As for some of the boring old fart sportsmen, it looks like the alliance will break up tonight after something Ross the big wave surfer says. Iā€™ll be pleased when he goes!
Made a mistake itā€™s Steven the skater Iā€™d like to see go! Not Ross.

It sounds a bit silly to say you canā€™t play survivor if you are an ex AFL player. To limit anyone applying is absolutely ridiculous - so i think it is fair that he is on the contenders tribe.

10 Peach made a boo-boo tonight during Seinfeld (at 7pm). They showed an ad of who is leaving tonight.

Probably lucky that no one watches the channel at that time. lol.

It only took four episodes but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Simon could actually speak. Of course it is the pitfall of having a bigger cast that not everyone gets enough screentime.

In the first season (on ten) christy didnā€™t get any airtime for at least the first 1/3 of the season. Probably to throw off the viewers and create a dark horse situation. Could be a good sign for Simon.

Tonightā€™s episode was good, finally got a glimpse of what Iā€™ve thought this show should have done a long time ago; blindside the viewers. Love that they barely aired a mention of the plan to get rid of nova in the lead up to tribal. Rewatch the tribal knowing the outcome and itā€™s hilarious. Nova pretty much instructed the tribe to vote her off.

Side note, Australian survivor is really adopting some kind of horror movie cliche. The one black cast member has been one of the first to go every year.

Yes I loved the blindside for the tribe and viewers; that was the result I was hoping for; plus the parting line from Jonathan to Steven Bradbury was a classic ā€œJust when you thought all was lost ā€¦ you skated throughā€.

Australian Survivor is not that smart with the editing. Itā€™s put together really quickly after filming, therefore unlike US Survivor where they try to build story arcs, generally with ours earlier on in the season the people who get the airtime are the either the ones theyā€™ve picked as viewer favourites (e.g. Luke) or the ones who go home. I think if people arenā€™t being shown yet they are going to be around for a while so theyā€™ll get their chance for airtime later in the season.

Anyway Nova leaving early in the season was completely predictable if you read any of the pre season interviews Channel 10 posted with the contestants, which were clearly exit interviews. They also did one with Simon Black which pretty much tells you a point in the game that he makes it too. Well done Ten.

I really am starting to get frustrated with the length of these episodes and finding this cast pretty lacklustre so far. Iā€™m over the constant shoving of Luke in our face. The only person Iā€™m really going for at this stage is Janine.

Which is the reason why I watch it online - you can skip through the first 15 minutes and donā€™t need to endure the ads.

It takes between seven and nine weeks to finish every episode. ā€

7 to 9 weeks to edit 1 episode, surly not?

It says to finish every epiosde. Not 1 episode every 7-9 weeks.

So I went out last night and it didnā€™t record for some reason but does it get repeated on the weekend or something? I noticed it was suppose to be repeated the following day at 1pm but My Stupid Life is Murder repeat is getting the preference, what bullshit. I know thereā€™s tenplay but why repeat 2 out of 3 shows? Not very consistent.

How was last night the biggest move in Survivor history? Itā€™s not like a fake Idol has been played and backfired on someone. I would love Janine to give someone her useless idol and vote someone outā€¦ Now that would be good.

Btw avoid reading Sportsbet betting odds if you donā€™t want to be spoiled. There is a pretty obvious clear winner at $1.60 and itā€™s been accurate in the past. Iā€™m not sure how this happens every season but must people working on the show in the know making bit betsā€¦

Im pretty sure itā€™s airing within 7-9 weeks of filming endingā€¦

I donā€™t understand the idol swap move. David spiced up by making a fake immunity idol to give to Shaun, hoping Shaun to fall for the trap. Sneaky way to get a rival out of competition.

According to online guides, there are no Survivor encores scheduled this weekend on main channel, 10Bold or 10Peach. So unfortunately you will have to visit 10play to see the missed episode.

I donā€™t get the point of it either. It is only going to blow up on David later in the game if itā€™s revealed what heā€™s done. And why make a potential enemy on the Contenders tribe? The champions are down in numbers and would need people on the Contenders as allies at some point. Come a merge or tribe swap it would be good knowing someone with an Idol and even if it had been used Shaun would immediately have a trusted alliance with David for saving him. Instead heā€™s potentially making an enemy or stirring the pot with people he will need to work with in the future.

Unless Shaun goes before the merge (or plays it and finds out its fake and still goes) and heā€™s unlikely to tell the others where he got it until after when itā€™s too late cause he would be walked out to do his exit interview.
