Before he sets off on this colossal ski trek, Kaelan has already endured one of the toughest challenges of his life: Australian Survivor 2025. As a contestant on the hit reality TV show, he was pushed to the brink physically and mentally, and the experience left a lasting impression on him.

“Survivor has definitely helped me train for this,” Kaelan says.

“It’s not an exaggeration how tough it is. You are constantly starving. All you eat is rice, beans and coconut. I lost a significant amount of weight.

“But the cool thing is, your tastebuds reset and you start to taste so much flavour in such plain foods.”

Kaelan’s time on Australian Survivor, which was filmed in Samoa, wasn’t just about the competition: it was a mental exercise that prepared him for the isolating conditions he’ll face in Norway.

“The biggest challenge was how cold it was,” Kaelan says.

“You’d think a tropical island would be warm, but we had to sleep on the beach at night and it was freezing. A lot of nights it was raining. The cold and sleep deprivation were insane.

“It took a lot of time to recover after the show. You only stop when you’re sleeping and eating and that was hard.”

JLP is also on the cover of TV Week this week.

Really disappointed Channel 10 has leaked spoilers via tvguides. Brawn loses first episode and Nash survives but cops votes.

Why does channel 10 always make stupid blunders that spoil things?

Both tribes would have fires lit at their camps after the first challenge, unlike previous seasons where only the winning tribe had its fire lit. However, both tribes would not have flint this season, so if the fire went out, the tribes would need to resort to the traditional way.

We have a hat burner this season. that guy seems unhinged.

Am I just ignorant or are we meant to know who ‘Noonan’ is?

This season the immunity idol is simply called idol. How odd.

Looks like 10 has listened and changed the synopses. This is for tonight:

Strength and strategy go head-to-head as the power struggle intensifies after Tribal Council. With a traitor in the mix, can alliances stay strong?

For Wednesday:

The Coven’s realisation of their spot in the game spurs a different kind of battle on the Brains tribe and an unexpected turn of events leaves one tribe devastated.

No she’s just from the Mornington Peninsula where her family are well known in that community, but the family isn’t of note. She was just talking about being compared.

Is it normal somebody burn max hat in this show?

There is a long history of (infamous) hat burnings - US and Australian versions.

Brands Ready? Go! Sponsors Revealed For Australian Survivor.

IKEA And ahm Join Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II As Major Brand Sponsors.

The new season of Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II has attracted a diverse range of brands across a variety of sectors, all leaning into the format to leverage the legion of devoted superfans and connect with new viewers.

For the first time in Australian Survivor history, global home furnishing brand, IKEA will treat the castaways in Samoa to much-needed everyday comfort as an integrated brand sponsor.

Private health insurer, ahm, is also harnessing Australian Survivor IP in a bespoke animated TVC aligned with its ‘You’re Good’ platform.

Tamar Hovagimian, Head of Integration & Partnerships, Paramount Brand Studio, said this was just two of the varied brands accessing premium assets this season showing the audience power of the format.

“We cannot wait for audiences to see the brand moments for IKEA in this season of Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn that will juxtapose the harsh conditions of camp life with the comfort of IKEA’s complete sleep range.

“The added element of an audience competition to win generous IKEA vouchers will also elevate engagement with viewers keen to get their own slice of comfort,” said Tamar.

Peter Moore, Head of Media for IKEA Australia said: "We’re thrilled for IKEA to be a key sponsor for this season of Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn, connecting with a fiercely loyal and engaged national audience.

“We could not think of a better platform than Survivor to highlight the importance of sleep and the comforts from home we often take for granted.

“With nearly three in four Australians struggling to get a good night’s sleep, we have no doubt that our Survivor contestants will be feeling this firsthand.

“It has been a pleasure collaborating with the Paramount Brand Studio team to design a meaningful and impactful sponsorship to showcase IKEA, through in-program integrations, and clever use of our brand creative,” added Peter.

ahm Head of Marketing, Samantha McLeod, said: “The Australian Survivor IP was an ideal alignment for ahm to lean into and create a fun and engaging TVC that echoes this iconic format and amplifies our brand.”

Tamar added: “These sponsorships are a win-win elevating both our show and the brands in fresh and entertaining ways that we know will connect with audiences and deliver tangible brand outcomes.”

Expedia also joins Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II as a sponsor with even more brands to be announced during the broadcast.

Keep watching this explosive season to see these brands and more come to life and which castaway can outwit, outplay and outlast the competition to be crowned the sole survivor.

I reckon IKEA provided the bedding as part of an upcoming reward following a physical challenge.

They did. They also mentioned the name of another female joining the Coven for tonight’s episode.

Despite being spoilt on the major plot points there was still enough surprises to enjoy the first episode. I didn’t think I would to be honest as the constant themed seasons just seem to breed tacky and forced behaviour out of the players that feel they need to lean into the trope and play up to the cameras instead of just being their authentic selves. Still I really liked the episode.

I won’t be calling Jesse Noonan all season. There are two females on the Brawn tribe with Noonan as a surname for a start so I’m not even sure if I have the right given name but to be wanting to be called by your surname just screams sad and pathetic. Stop seeking validation to overcome your insecurity. Her calling Zen & Nash out on their cringe behaviour yet wanting recognition away from her family but still using the surname as a name was peak cringe. The call is coming from inside the house dear. As a whole I did like her and agreed with most of her takes but she lacks just as much self awareness as the others which could become grating down the line.

I found Nash totally annoying. I did appreciate his bombastic antics created a great tribal and kept it moving and entertaining but to start at this level of obnoxiousness (seriously repeatedly kissing the idol and getting hurt when it wasn’t picked up he had the idol quick enough) is not going to bode well for me. If he gets booted premerge I’ll appreciate him for what he was but if he gets dragged to the end as a goat or gets there through production interference it’s going to be a looong season.

Glad Ursula didn’t get the boot. Loved her exchange with Nash as she’s frantically looking for an idol. Facially she reminds me a bit of Debbie from US Survivor.

Liked Miles? the pole dancer and expected to hate the white Witch but I liked her.

I found Max a bit grating so I loved Kent tossing his hat in the fire. Beyond petty but I did live for it.

I thought the casting from what was highlighted in the episode was pretty fantastic. It looked like a lot more average Australians, certainly body wise, and a lot less recruited gym bunnies, boring influencers most have never heard of and dude bros.

I did think the immunity challenge was lacking. The snake looked cheap and nasty and the whole challenge was too low budget if I’m being honest. It’s been going for almost ten years at this point, the challenges shouldn’t look like they’ve regressed quality wise but they do.

Plural? How many reward challanges can you cram into a season where they can win bedding or a flimsy plywood table.

No doubt it will be as well executed as I’m A Celeb ones. At this point just have the damn brand signage blinking for 30 seconds taking up the whole screen mid episode.

Desperate attempts like this product placement just irk me and turns me off their brand entirely. Besides Ikea is overpriced cheap tat and they are about the last place I’d associate quality and affordable bedding from.

Though I guess if you stink and are roughing it for over a month even Ikea bedding would seem luxurious to the desperate.

Looks like there won’t be an official Talking Tribal podcast this year.

For the record, these were the original synopses for the episodes last night and tonight. They were posted to YourTV guides on Sunday, before 10 swapped them to avoid spoilers.

‘Brutal’ Survivor moment nobody saw coming

“This is heartbreaking”: There were tears all around during Wednesday’s episode of Australian Survivor.

“I’ve been with the medical team all day, and I’ve fractured my finger, but it’s all the way down to the bone so I have to be in a cast … and they’ve actually pulled me from the game,” he announced.

There was an interesting twist on Monday night’s tribal council.

There was a tribe swap but, unlike previous seasons, it was permanent. Brains lost the immunity challenge and had to go tribal council. JLP told the tribemates that instead of voting someone out, they would vote someone to join the Brawn tribe and gain an advantage. Rich was voted 9-1 to go to the Brawn tribe and it was revealed that his advantage, which had to be played at the next tribal council, would allow someone to force two people to leave their tribal council prior to casting of votes. Those two people could not vote, nor could not be voted against. Rich could use the advantage himself or pass it on to someone in the Brawn tribe.

UPDATE 26/2

In Tuesday night’s episode, Brawn beat Brains again in the immunity challenge, so Rich passed the scroll to Max. Max then read the scroll to his Brains tribemates when they returned to camp. At the tribal council, Max chose Karin and Laura to return to camp before the vote.
