Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains. Coming To 10 And 10 Play In January 2023.

Would you lie and manipulate your way to $500,000? Or is loyalty and mateship paramount? Find out whether good will prevail over evil, or if the nice guy finishes last when Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains premieres on 10 and 10 Play in January 2023.

Pitting Villains against Heroes in the world’s toughest game, honour and integrity will go head-to-head with deception and duplicity, and to adjudicate the battle of the year, host Jonathan LaPaglia is back in Samoa where it all began.

With a huge returning cast, and even bigger new faces, this season is all thriller, no filler. From the memorable, to the heroic and controversial, here are your castaways…

Heroes

Queen Hayley Leake returns to the game as the only previous winner, alongside Survivor royalty, Nina Twine, who had her game cut short in Blood V Water and is ready to come back stronger than ever. Six years after Sam Webb played in the very first season in Samoa, he has returned, together with big wave surfer and Brains V Brawn finalist, Flick Palmateer, and the challenge beast, Shaun Hampson.

Sporting a buff for the first time is Hero Benjamin Law the ultimate slashie – author, broadcast journalist, writer and creator of The Family Law, LGBTQIA+ advocate and Survivor super fan.

He may have been your AFL team’s villain, but this former Essendon player David Zaharakis is playing for the Heroes, alongside actress Sharni Vinson, animal activist Rogue Rubin, jillaroo Paige Donald, lifeguard Matt Sharp and tourism pilot Gerry Geltch.

Villains

If you thought King George was returning for redemption, you’re wrong. This time, it’s George the terrible and he’s ready to steal his “rightful crown” from Hayley.

Helping George fly the flag for team Villains is third time returnee Shonee Bowtell as well as the first person in Australian Survivor to be blindsided with two Idols, Simon Mee. The joker returns in Jordie Hansen, alongside sneaky Steve who is back for revenge, and Australia’s most successful female poker player, Jackie Glazier.

New to the game is Miss World Australia; Sarah Marsch, Olympic pole vaulter Liz Parnov, news anchor Anjali Rao, real estate agent Fraser Lack, journalist Michael Warren and luxury car brand manager, Mimi Tang.

Heroes V Villains

Perhaps the biggest question Australian Survivor asks is how would you play the game? Do you follow your real-life moral code and play like a Hero or do you do whatever it takes to get ahead like a Villain would?

In 2023, Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains will put that question to the ultimate test.

Loyalty, honour and mateship are all attributes a Hero brings to the game while Villains are shrewd, cunning and don’t mind bending the rules. And in this series, 24 players are about to show which side will come out triumphant.

Hosted by Jonathan LaPaglia, Australian Survivor returns for its eighth season and will push returning favourites and newcomers to their physical and mental limits in the jungles of Samoa.

Each player will compete for the ultimate prize of $500,000. And as the spirits of these ordinary yet extraordinary Australians are deprived of everyday basic comforts, with little more than the clothes on their back, they will need to outwit, outplay, and outlast each other to get to the end.

Across 47 days, these Heroes and Villains will take part in Reward Challenges, where they will compete for luxuries like food and camping essentials. In Immunity Challenges, they will play for Immunity from being voted out of the game at the next Tribal Council. At each Tribal Council, each tribe must vote out one of their own.

Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains is an Endemol Shine Australia production for Network 10.

Heroes v Villains premieres on Monday January 30, 2023.

The date was revealed in a short promo posted earlier today, and also shown at the end of the Sydney v Melbourne NBL match broadcast on 10 tonight.

Survivors Ready?

Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains. Premieres Monday, 30 January at 7.30pm.

Whether they play by the rules, or hit below the belt, honour and integrity will go head-to-head with deception and duplicity when Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains premieres Monday, 30 January at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play On Demand.

Survivor royalty Sandra won her second crown in the US version of Heroes V Villains as a Villain, can her daughter Nina do her mum proud, as a Hero? Will George, the creature of chaos, live up to his name and steal the crown away from his arch nemesis Hayley, or will a new castaway blow the returnees out of the Samoan water?

Courage and honesty or deceit and cunning, which path will lead to Sole Survivor and $500,000?

Will Ultimate Villain King George Rule Them All?

Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains. Premieres Monday, 30 January. On 10 And 10 Play.

Dubbed The King of Bankstown in Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn, King George returns to cause havoc amongst his fellow castaways, and he doesn’t take this job lightly!

Constantly scheming and impossible to vote out of the Tribe, George is back and this time he is determined to win.

But will the target on his back prove to be too much, or can he talk his way back into the final two once more?

What a hideous tatt. Looks like his chest has been cut open.

Casting George again really puts me off - didn’t like him first time around (and not in a good “villian” way) and I’ve no doubt this time around the producers will again edit the show around his view of events once again - and throw an idol his way when required.

And we already know he at least makes it to the jury stage given when he returned to social media, not looking forward to that.

A Whole Different Kind Of Villain.

Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains. Premieres Monday, 30 January On 10 And 10 Play.

As a television journalist, Anjali Rao has crossed paths with many Heroes and Villains in her life.

But news rooms are one thing, and Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains will show her what a real cut-throat environment can be.

Anjali is ready for it all, and wants to be the biggest and baddest villain in Samoa. Does she have what it takes?

I noticed 10 have staged Anjali on their Melbourne news set in that promo to highlight her journalism / presenting career which is interesting.

Not to discredit her prior work, but seems like a bit of a long bow to draw to continually refer to her prior career at CNN and in other overseas newsrooms (which I’m not sure she would be synonymous with in Australia), when she hasn’t held a similar regular gig for 10~ years.

Do the promoters actually think people want to see George? He’s awful. All of these promos featuring him are just making more and more reasons not to watch it.

I like George :man_shrugging:

The Smiling Assassin.

Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains. Premieres Monday, 30 January On 10 And 10 Play.

Shonee Bowtell is not one to mess with. An Australian Survivor All Star, she has blindsided, lied, and will do it all with a smile on her face.

Will her social game prove successful this time around in Samoa?

She’s back because inflation is a b*tch

Isuzu Ute returns as a program sponsor (its logo was shown at the end of a promo shown tonight). This suggests they would give away a vehicle to a challenge winner (or winners) sometime during the new season.
