From watching WIN News Tas, I assume Swansea is pronounced “Swan-sea” as opposed to “Swan-zee” in Wales.
We have a Swansea up here in Newcastle as well, same pronunciation as the Tasmanian town.
Didn’t know the Wales one was different.
Apparently the pronunciation of Launceston is different in the UK too. Here it is Lon-ces-ton (not Lawn-ces-ton) or Lonnie but over in the UK it is pronounced Lan-sten.
