wasn’t Idol on 10 a winter show? Why not air it then?
Yes it was, aired in July/August when it was on 10.
Marcia is replacing Meghan as an Idol judge, according to News Corp’s exclusive interview with Marcia.
After her cameo in the reboot of Australian Idol this year, the much-loved entertainer will make a full-time return to the judge’s panel for next year’s season, alongside her neighbour Amy Shark and old mate Kyle Sandilands, to replace Meghan Trainor who welcomed her second son Barry this week.
Hines said she was delighted when she was invited back to Idol this year after a fan-led campaign.
“I was surprised and delighted because I really love that gig: I don’t know if people realised how much it meant to me,” Hines said.
“Why? Because like me, they just want to sing, they want to find a career in singing.”
I have been listening to some chat on Nova lately and have come to the conclusion that Adam Lambert is going to replace Harry Connick Jr.
On Ricki Lee, Tim and Joel, they have been taking the piss out of Harry a lot lately by suggesting he is not as nice in person, as he pretends to be. In the past, Ricki Lee has been careful not to bag anyone else she works with and would no go along with any jokes Tim or Joel would make. Seeing this change now, suggests to me Harry is definitely not coming back.
Today, Fitzy and Wippa interviewed Adam Lambert for his appearances on Drag Race Down Under which is streaming now on Stan. It was a great interview and he was having fun chatting to the boys again. At the end of the interview Fitzy says, we need to have more of you on Australian television. Adam replies that we actually will see more of him on Australian television soon but he can’t say anything about that yet.
It must be Australian Idol.
That would be awesome.
It’s a big signing if true. Adam Lambert is great, and has a god charisma to him.
And obviously has a connection to the Idol Franchise…
I’ve come to a conclusion that many “judges” on our shows usually guest appear the year prior. It’s almost an opportunity for the managers to suss out the place before they sign the contract.
For example, Boy George appeared the year prior to starting on The Voice, so did James Blunt before X Factor.
So Adam was a guest performer this year on Idol, therefore this could add up.
It’s firming up to be true. Just caught up on the Nova podcast from last week when Tim Blackwell brought up the rumour appearing in other media. Rikki Lee Coulter said that she cannot officially confirm any rumours but knows what’s going on. Joel Creasey said he hoped that she invites them to hang out with Adam Lambert when he is in Australia. So Rikki agreed to do that, which pretty much confirms the rumour.
So Adam, Amy, Marcia and Kyle? That seems an improvement.
Looking at Scott Tweedie’s socials, it seems like they started up some of the pre-production work on the new season today (with Scott, Ricki-Lee and some of the crew).
It won’t surprise me if they use The Voice finale to do a bit of a launch / audition callout.
Ricki-Lee posted on her Instagram tonight that she would start filming the new season this Sunday (October 8).
Filming?
Yes filming. Must be the word suggestion function on my mobile.
Audience tickets are now available from That’s the Ticket website for the first two events of 2024 season: the arrival of judges at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium next Wednesday (October 11), and the audition showcase at Roslyn Packer Theatre in Walsh Bay, on Friday night, October 27.
Kyle Sandilands was seen at Sydney Airport this week flying to Adelaide to film the auditions.
Kyle made an interesting comment on his show this week complaining about having to travel to South Australia “Nine months before the show even airs”.
So not launching in January?
9 months is July, that’s when the voice airs. It’s stupid for 7 to film the auditions now & then wait 6+ months before they perform again etc
Maybe it’ll be like The Voice and DWTS and not live next season. All prerecorded.
Big Brother was filmed and recorded a year ago.
Still hasn’t aired.
Yes but Idol has live shows, big brother isn’t live, it’s all pre-recorded
But the point is that things are filmed a long time in advance so it’s not uncommon.
