Australian Idol

Not hippie musicians! But how come 2 isn’t enough?

It’s science. The vaccines become ineffective after a certain amount of time and you need a booster shot to have a better chance of fighting the virus. Plus the boosters are different and are designed to be more effective against the newer strains.

But the original science said two was enough. Science is a really overused word.

 Things change just like the virus changed and mutated.

Seems doubters never change though.

Yes, science never changes.

I’m old enough to remember when the science said masks don’t work.

According to the Herald Sun, Kyle Sandilands will be a judge on the upcoming season of Australian Idol.

When I heard Kyle’s name it got me excited that they were maybe bringing back the old panel (or contestants related to the past of the show). However reading some articles saying the other judges will be “two international Grammy award winning artists” which is going to make it just like any other talent show. If just one past judge was coming back I would’ve preferred Marcia.

When I heard Kyle I thought shit there goes most of the budget.

Groan. Seriously? Cant we get a fresh lineup without including him? If we Must have a nostalgia judge, make it Marcia IMO

Kyle confirmed he is in on his radio show this morning but is yet to sign contract.

The comments from Kyle about him being the only ‘original’ judge dont make me feel good about the new version of australian idol. makes me think Ch7 haven’t really understood one of the big draws for people to watch is the nostalgia element. fingers crossed though they pull it off ok.

Of all the ‘original’ judges they could’ve asked to come back they ask for Kyle, just like how they found Daryl to host the reboot of DWTS

Marcia Hines would’ve been the one to look for to return.

I think they were looking for the ‘Simon Cowell’ of Australia to sit alongside the other judges.

Kyle’s probably our answer to Simon.

Kyle is our version of Simon? You can’t be serious.

Simon roasts and tears people apart by being blunt. Kyle just spews bile on everything. He’s not nearly worth as much on TV as he is on radio.

Well Kyle was the ‘Simon’ on the original series I’d suggest. So yes, I am serious.

Who would you suggest is the ‘Simon’? Marcia?

Dicko would’ve been the Simon of the past. But the thing is why do we need a Simon on this show? If they want a judge like him they should’ve gone for Simon Cowell himself instead of a wannabe like Kyle.

We don’t need a ‘Simon’, those type of judges are not popular with the public anymore.

But Kyle wasn’t even an original judge.

As for the comments about him being the Simon I think initially they tried that with Dicko. But soon they realised they couldn’t replicate the judges. The Australian version had a unique judging presence and although many didn’t like Mark Holden the touchdowns were always so exciting.

Kyle isn’t the right ‘original’ judge in my opinion. It might be an unpopular opinion but I would have gone with Mark Holden or Marcia
