its looks as thought and looking through the lava logs. power FM here in Ballarat went independent from 9 AM through to 9.09 AM and at9.10 Am they had the news before rejoining the log again at 9.17 am
Krock almost running train wreck programming, from hit songs straight into a daggy thing from the 80s. Terrible.
Much prefer a variety mix !!!
I noticed this while I was down over Christmas too - there is a complete lack of identity, not to mention a total absence of clear distinction between themselves and Bay FM.
It’s no secret here that for years I have bemoaned the pop-focused K-Rock of the last decade or so, but at least it had a clearer purpose and target audience, and was in no way overlapping with its sister station. Now you tune in and have no idea which one you might be listening to!
Just another nail in the coffin of what once was a terrific regional radio station
I’m currently holidaying in Huskisson & I’ve noticed that Power FM Far South Coast has switched on its Eden translator on 103.9. This is verified by matching the same content that is heard on 104.3 & 102.5.
As for 2ST, its 91.7 service is still transmitting out of Huskisson.
It was on when I was last in the area in January 2019
That was before the Bega LAP Variation was released for consultation in late March, which saw the proposal for the FM conversion of 2EC’s main Bega service, as well as for Power FM’s Eden translator.
My apologies, I was confused with the 2EC translator in Eden. I my post from the time (which you responded to) refreshes my mind - it was 2EC with good reception and Power that desperately needed a translator to be added. Fortunately common sense prevailed and this was included in the conversion process.
Mike O’Loughlin is now the host of Tasmania Talks. Aaron Stevens has moved back to Queensland for personal reasons according to the shows Facebook. He’s still hosting the 20/20 Retro Countdown.
You know when the log needs changing when Power FM Ballarat plays Waterloo by ABBA. Sure it’s Flashback Saturday Night but this is taking things too far
… wonder who they’ll get to host brekkie at 7XS … it was vacant for a long time before they got Locco there …
I am listening to them less and less now , since they change to hits and old school hits
Looks like they’ve got Richard Moore doing it at the moment. No doubt a temporary measure out of Hobart.
7XS Breakfast is now hosted by Cameron Skirving. Cameron was PD and news reader at 105.3 Way FM in Launceston prior to 7XS.
@LFD459 and others, is Cameron based in Queenstown to host this or still remotely, this time from Lonnie?
Looks to be Queenstown based from his Facebook
Daryl will now be permanently joined by Roxie Bennett in Drive at Bay FM, after having a rotating cast of co-hosts recently.
Looking at the logs of Grant stations, it appears that Wave FM are now sharing the same log as that of 94.9 Power FM & 7HO as of this morning, in which they’re now all separate from its other Hot AC stations.
The change coincides with 2ST in the Shoalhaven officially converting its main AM service to 91.7FM as of today.
