After more than three decades broadcasting to the Shoalhaven, radio host Pete Brandtman is departing Nowra’s 2ST. In a social media post, Brandtman - who

Pete Brandtman was also the one-half of 94.9 Power FM’s The Bacon Boys back in the 90s.
His last day with the station will be on Friday 22nd November.

I’m actually surprised at how many announcers ARN has at 2ST.

Isn’t there 2x brekkie announcers (one per each market), then 1x mornings announcer and (now) there are 2x afternoon announcers - but there was an extra.
Some regional centres these days are lucky to have 2-3 announcers (if that).
If anything, I’m surprised ARN haven’t axed the 2x split brekkie programs on 2ST.
I would have:
1x brekkie show 6-9am
1x mornings 9am-1pm
1x afternoons 1pm-5pm

Ian/Max - Breakfast
Pete - Afternoons (The photo and description is someone else who isn’t Pete Brandtman?)
Kev - Drive
According to the website. So it looks liKe Graeme Day was also let go?
It used to be:
2x Breakfast
1x Morning
1x Afternoon
1x Drive
1x overnights/weekend
Anyway i reckon 2ST is probably one of ARN’s highest earning regional stations which is probably why they had so many on-air personalities.

That Pete is on breakfast on 2NM, I have seen and heard the same announcers on multiple arn regional stations.

ARN’s PowerFM and Zinc96 do this (probably with a lot of other ARN Regionals).

I also just noticed that 2ST Highlands Breakfast’s Ian is doing Drive on 2EC. Must be cheaper and easier to that i guess.

Ian Holland is familiar with doing 2 weekday shifts at 2 different stations
When doing 9 -12 mornings at 4AK & 4GR, he would then fly his own plane to Brisbane for his drive shift on 4KQ

I think that has to be some kind of industry record.
Has anybody in the entire world ever flown in between two shifts on a regular occurrence?

If any tech folk from ARN are reading thread can you guys please check your RDS Encoder Clock Time (CT) settings. Several FM stations just don’t have both their RDS CT settings correct or sync’d to a NTP Clock source.
Here’s a sample: 3BA, KIIS Sydney, KIIS Melbourne, Gold 104.3 Melbourne, Zinc 96.1 Gympie, etc

A subtle interesting choice of colours. Interesting the Mix logo is located on the side, with Hot100FM just on a screen.
The pink in one of the photos could suggest an introduction of KIIS branding at some point.
Maybe I’m just a conspiracy theorist.

I think so.
That Mix logo at reception looks to have been signed and framed with a plaque, so some kind of memorabilia.
Pink is also one of the ARN corporate colours so that’s another reason why it could have been used in some places.

I doubt he will be replaced. Probably will network Max from Shoalhaven Breakfast.

Did 2NM do anything on air for their 70th?
