Tommy Little is the most exciting comedian of his generation, bringing his signature high energy and enthusiasm to the stage, night after night, year after year. His third Amazon Comedy Special Pretty Fly For a Dickhead was just released in April on Prime Video. Tommy is beloved across Australia as one half of popular national radio program The Carrie and Tommy Show.

Tommy Said: “Brooke Boney and I are the perfect Yin and Yang. She is professional, articulate and extremely hardworking, so I guess I will just do the other bits. I absolutely love Australian music but I am also tone deaf, so this is the closest I will ever get to an ARIA and I can’t wait.”

The Red-Carpet segment was brief, which is good.

They are showing quite a few awards that were presented “earlier in the night”…

Some of Tommy Little’s jokes are quite flat.

Not very well edited. A bit hacked up. Some acceptance speeches cut off, abruptly, then time wasted on waffle called “backstage bites.”

Also, really weird how they started the show with an interview with a nominee via satellite. Was it necessary when he ended up winning and had a chance to talk later anyway?

Watched the whole thing now. Just ridiculous how they produced this. Most of the award presentation were shown as “Earlier” and you only saw a one sentence snippet of the speeches. Whatever award presentation was shown was also hacked. If they want to cut something why not cut the one or two minutes it takes for winners to hug everyone at their table and walk up to the stage.

What’s the point of showing ten seconds of Emma Memma winning an award but then being asked stupid questions backstage for three or four minutes?

The show was a mess last night. The ratings were again quite low. Perhaps without the cricket they might have been higher but otherwise they have been stuck below 300k since 2019. 2016 was probably a highlight when they got 580,000.

The main problem was that editing was taking place while the awards ceremony was still in progress (and live on Stan), so the result was very choppy.

There was a promo during Nine’s broadcast telling viewers to watch the full ceremony on demand on Stan.

Absolute mess. One of the big winners was Troye Sivan who is having big pop success at the moment but they hacked up his big acceptance speech and his other wins on stage were only shown as “Earlier” for about ten seconds.

They promoted Dolly Parton as a presenter, yet they edited that presentation down to less than a minute on screen.

The mishap came during the presentation of the Best Hip Hop/Rap category, for which Kerser was nominated for his chart-topping album A Gift & A Kers.

A camera shot of nominees appeared to show the MC in attendance at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. But as the 36-year-old pointed out, he was not. Instead, the camera doubled up with a shot of Kahukx alongside nominees Genesis Owusu, Tkay Maidza, and ONEFOUR.

I guess he’ll never be nominated for anything again…ever.
