ARIA Awards

Natalie imbruglia is Australian and once upon a time in 1992-93 she played Beth Brennan on neighbours and she had a song called torn and many other hit singles? She is more Aussie than Lewis capaldi though.

I think we all know that. It’s Lewis Capaldi that doesn’t have a connection to the Australia music industry.

Nova have just announced that Lewis Capaldi won’t be appearing in the Nova Red Room and cancelling his trip to Australia due to a scheduling conflict. I guess that means he’s out as host of the ARIA Awards too.

Yeh the Aria’s just posted a statement too.

Perhaps now they can give an Aussie artist a crack at the gig?

And hopefilly someone who actually knows what the ARIA Awards are and appreciates hosting.

Lewis was interviewed on The Project and they asked him about his hosting gig. He said he only just found out he had the hosting the show and didn’t know anything about the ARIAs. That had train wreck written all over it.

In comparison, co-host Natalie Imbruglia was completely reverant about the awards and considered it to be an honour to be asked to host. She spoke about how she valued the ARIA awards she had won.

ARIA statement

Due to unforeseen scheduling issues, Lewis Capaldi will no longer be in Australia for his planned promotional trip in November.

Unfortunately, this means Lewis won’t be able to attend the 2022 ARIA Awards. Lewis will be returning to Australia for his tour in July 2023.

The 2022 ARIA Awards still be live and dangerous with presenter and performer announcements coming soon!

Winners of the awards given out during the 6pm Premiere show today (before Nine’s telecast). It was live streamed on YouTube.

Maybe could have ‘spoiler alerted’ that post.

During the main telecast, the announcer also reveals which artist claimed an award during the premiere show.

Christian Wilkins (and other) have just announced some of the winners that were announced earlier. As well as the announcer.

Lots of brief glitches on the telecast tonight - sounds like packet loss/jitter on the uplink from the venue?

problems with the transitions as well. not sure if it is user error on the part of the vision switcher or Technical problems.

Cringe overload.
