Getting weak Bendigo ABCRR 91.1 and Classic 92.7 along with fair News Radio Swan Hill (95.9), Radio National Nhill (95.7) and a very weak Hay ABCRR 88.1 popping up now and then tonight on the wideband. No sign of Adelaide so far which may help more Victorian tropo come in.

would’ve thought Bendigo was permanent in summer considering how flat it is after you climb the ranges.

I assume Bendigo is back at full power now?

I had them at fair strength in Euston/Robinvale back in July; this was in the morning though and so they may not be there all the time.

That’s been my experience as well, Bendigo only really comes in with a decent inversion in the mornings. 92.7mhz has a chance of being either Classic or Fresh927.

Adelaide plus Loxton are the ones I consider semi-permanent, while levels vary you can get at least one station from both most days, usually 5SBS 106.3 and 5PNN 93.9 respectively.

6dB down other directions, quarter of the power in other words @ninkeon58

My Switch website provides clues on this for the TV radiation pattern from Hay, you see it on the Mid Western Hwy travelling in the direction of WW. It would’ve been designed in the days of ATV and mirrored that output.

Perhaps a change of DX direction, both on same freq 92.1:

Any ideas anyone as to the * against some sites in their list?

Mt Beauty and Myrtleford were already on air when I passed through last October, there were issues with the audio feed, being heavily skewed to the left channel.

I’ve since heard Yarrawonga has been switched / was about to be switched on, but haven’t heard if Wodonga has yet.

Nothing on 93.7 when I passed through the Twin Cities last month. I couldn’t remember what frequency was allocated so I had to resort to the autoseek function on the car radio, but nil found, only the main 92.1 tx.

Some fading with Sydney happening tonight, enough for the new Muswellbrook ABC RDS to sneak in under Triple J… Almost anti DX, but that’s rare here.

It seems that the ABC is hunting (huntering)?the Jays…which would make it a cannibal!

It must be hungry since it’s just eaten three jays.

Reminds of when they used to ID as “Jay Jay Jay” in the mid 80s.

This is quite specific on the location (but correct)!

I’ve been logging with the transmitter site+ service area, so:

88.3 2ABCFM Mount Ulandra/SW Slopes

In truth, it’s SW Slopes/E Riverina but that’s too cumbersome for me!

Noted you got Hay again too. I didn’t try this morning because it’s a warm dry westerly here, but evidently there was some tropo happening to the west.

‘Wodonga’ is also quite parochial but correct; I’m just as parochial when I refer to it colloquially as ‘Albury’ but the transmitter is firmly in the Education State at Mount Baranduda, service area officially Upper Murray. A bit like how on the Hume Highway in VIC, Albury is never mentioned on road signs but Wodonga is.

I’ve been cross referencing these from the FMDX.ORG maps, who seem to prefer the closest town name for site identification rather than the actual mountain names or areas served. It would be preferable if they listed it as a note like they do with some of the other areas.

Bendigo is off air tonight allowing for first time reception of what i assume is vision 90.3 Sale in Melbourne. It ided as ‘faith fm’ but could just be a networked show.

An intrguing catch!

Sale 90.3 has never been on air as far as far as I know. I was thinking that might be the Griffith HPON, which is at 1kw. Though NSW HPONs are mostly racing ones, with the odd country music one here and there.

But then neither of the Vision Christian or Faith FM websites list as being on 90.3 in either town.

But it can’t be anything else except a pirate or spur.
