Looks like it’s mostly over now, but a pretty long evening of Es to FNQ:
It certainly did stay open a long time. @AustraliaRadio232 got quite a few good catches also on my second server (horizontal), the best one being Hit 100.3 over the top of ABC News Radio, and is still getting the odd catch even now.
I also briefly had Triple J 99.5 completely wipe out Hit 99.5 on the vertical, and it took quite a few minutes for Hit to start decoding RDS again.
That’s Warwick - so close to us here yet I didn’t hear a thing
Doesn’t look like they are running RDS anymore either, got pretty strong in Melbourne too yet no decode
Yeah, got up to the 40s on the dBf meter but no RDS decode here either.
I also got 95.5 Radio TAB Emerald pretty strong (40+ dBf), but couldn’t get RDS on that either.
Here In Ouyen this evening:
91.5 5RM - Renmark
93.1 Magic FM - Renmark
Despite Hepburn showing nothing, there’s actually some tropo about this morning. Tamworth at good strength and Armidale fair, with a surprise catch of 98.5 Lismore (fair) despite not much from the North Coast. It faded to nothing quickly though, so I’m wondering if it might have been Tr+As linkup.
Re pic with PI code of: F000
I’d possibly suggest either 4ABCRN Belyando Mine or 4HIT Jellinbah North Mine?
One could always contact the mine or company & make an enquiry with their technician.
Tropo more pedestrian this morning as the inversion was quite low altitude. It was warmer at 900 m than home at 700 m. I am learning that you need a deeper inversion (above 900 m) to get the best tropo.
Sporadic E into Mildura from Queensland. Currently receiving Hit 91.3 Mooranbah and a mix on 93.1 of Magic and Triple M Bundaberg.
2OOO 98.5 Sydney is back on air.
So no more chance at Mt Nardi ![]()
After a month’s break, welcome back Eric and the calming music playlist that they have. Was good to log Mt Nardi and even a couple of low powered Queenslanders on that frequency, now things have returned to normal.
After a few quiet nights had some action last night:
93.3 ABCFM - Western Victoria
95.7 ABCRN - Nhill
91.7 3PNN Western Victoria
92.5 3ABCRN Western Victoria
Looks like I will be waking up early tommorow morning! There is a good level duct predicted directly to SW WA from VIC (looks even better than it did earlier in the week). Hopefully channel blockage on the Albany Frequencies isn’t too bad from stations like 3HA FM 92.9 or ABC Classic 92.1. Will be a good test of the selectability of my 10 Element Yagi.
I’ll be in Victoria on Friday night for the weekend so I presume the duct will be gone by then ![]()
