Oui.
Might it be the SBS AM station in Canberra?
I could only find one AM station listed in New Caledonia (on 666 AM).
Bonne chance.

It’s the French programme of the BBC World Service for Africa - BBC Afrique. IDs as BBC Afrique and then mentions Lomé 97.5 FM.
I wonder what’s relaying that!
SBS relays the BBC overnight.
Thanks for the replies. SBS was my first thought, but when I checked it against the web stream, they were relating the BBC in English rather the French version like in this clip - but maybe the Canberra feed is different.
Edit: I checked SBS Radio 2 also now and that one was in French. Mystery solved - it wasn’t anything that exotic in the end
.
2RPH Newcastle 100.5 off air at the moment.
Have found i can get 2RPH Sydney East quite well at home (19 dbuv), can be nulled out to hear 2PNN Batemans Bay. Conditions appear to slightly enhanced at the moment, but Sydney East reception is good enough to suggest it would be permanent reception otherwise.
Big storm went through tonight and left us with RDS level reception up to Mackay on 97.9, 98.7, 99.5, 102.7, 104.3
Mount Cenn Cruaich 102.3, 105.5, 107.9 will good signals this morning. Mt Dowe, Inverell also enhanced.
Yeah there have been something doing with 2RPH’s feed of the BBC World Service. Last week there was that looped piece of audio of We aren’t able to bring you the normal service.
I did a recording of the AM band overnight. It’s interesting to see how the long-distance stations fade in and out along with sunset and sunrise:
And that the ones that come in/out earlier would be East Coast/NZ and those that are later would be SA and maybe even a couple of WA ones.
My TEF server thinks it received ABC Classic Brisbane this morning:
How likely do you think that is to be true? ![]()
106.1 Classic Newcastle is regular reception on the TVCL2 server. It doesn’t have RDS though (as far as I know). The email was sent automatically when it matched the 54C4 PI code that ABC Brisbane transmits.
Just checked, no RDS on my TEF on 106.1 here in Newcastle.
It may not be impossible that it was Brisbane. Possibly a brief meteor scatter ping or similar which brought a signal up strong enough and for just long enough to decode the RDS.
Some level of temperature inversion this morning, mainly favouring the south to south east parts of the state, Bendigo in particular. Here’s today’s logs
Interestingly there’s no sign of the Swan Hill commercials, not even a little bit of MIXX 107.7
Exciting news is that I’ve ordered a TEF over the last couple weeks along with a 3 element FM antenna. About to get a whole lot more fun.
SWR 99.9 is off-air at the moment if anyone wants to try to see if they can catch anything on the frequency that’s usually blocked by SWR.
Still on-air online.
Recording all 3 webservers on 99.9 FM now, hoping if I’ll pick up anything on the 3 tuners…
UPDATE: Nothing picked up as of yet. Recordings continue…
ALERT: I’ve heard something very faintly on 99.9 FM via @tvcl 2. Don’t know what station it was as it was too weak to tell.
