Episode 8: Full Moon
As a full moon rises, the night shift contends with problem passengers. A staircase installation risks blocking the airport’s sole access road.
EDIT: the staircase installation was for the fire escape stairs as part of the redevelopment of Terminal 3 (Virgin).
I reckon some part of this week’s episode was filmed in late January this year. It was mentioned around 120,000 travellers passed through the airport during a long weekend which coincided with school holidays. There were only a couple of long weekends during the filming period which fell during school holidays nationally, one of which was January 25-27 this year, with Australia Day falling on a Sunday.
However its subsidiary Jetstar was quite happy to have its image aired on the show, such as when its planes were on the taxiway, or during one of the episodes when there was a problem with the baggage drop off system at the airline’s check in counter at T4.
That’s fairly common with documentaries these days, for their privacy and safety.

Episode 9: Detection and Devotion
Dangerous weapons concealed in luggage test airport security while paramedics rush to treat a passenger suspected of having a stroke.
UPDATE 1/8: turns out the passenger had a mixture of alcohol and ketamine before arriving at the airport one hour late, and had symptoms similar to a stroke. She was sent to a hospital.

Episode 10: Above and Beyond (season finale)
A tense emergency unfolds as illicit drugs are found onboard a plane, and will an airport fashion show be a hit or miss?
How do u know its the season finale?
Cause there are 10 episodes and 10 marked the episode as season finale
Will there be a season 2?
Fingers crossed.
Well whats the likelyhood? Would they be filming it now?
Don’t think they’ve announced anything yet so it is a wait and see.
Part of tonight’s season finale was filmed on December 19 last year. It featured the arrival of the first flight of Juneyao Airlines from China. On the same morning, Malaysia Airlines’ brand new A330neo touched down in Melbourne. The segment featured Andrew Lund, Head of Media and Communications at Melbourne Airport.
Another segment was filmed on November 11 last year, as staff decorated the full size letter installation MELBOURNE on the wall at the international departure hall with 9000 poppies, to commemorate Remembrance Day.
Saw this too, the irony lol.
The episode also includes a segment on the airport uniform fashion show, hosted by Mitch and Mark. It took place in October last year.
