Saw it, enjoyed it, will be back.
Good little Thursday night show to watch.
You should check out Inside Sydney Airport (both airport documentaries are made by ITV Studios Australia) on SBS on Demand.
I thought it was interesting but a very similar format that’s been done for other airports around the world.
The one story that surprised me was with 3 passengers who got spooked after their plane had an engine fault and wanted to get off. The AFP were called and treated them as “aggressive passengers” and “a threat to public safety”. They probably just needed someone like the pilot to explain the situation and reassure them the engine issue had been thoroughly checked and it was safe to fly. They escalated the situation and when it needed the opposite.
I really enjoyed this. I’m an aviation nerd so i’ll watch all these shows but even i saw some stuff ive not seen before (like line marking at the gate for example).
I will def be back next week
Catching up now, it’s very interesting. Well produced
At first wasn’t the biggest fan of Susie’s narration, but mid-way through it’s not too bad.

Episode 2: Trouble Shooters
A tarmac collision disrupts passengers. Border Force find contraband and a mysterious plane lands unannounced.
(The show will air in Perth in the regular timeslot of 7.30pm Thursday from this date. It premiered in Perth last night after 10’s coverage of the World Cup Asian qualifier between the Socceroos and Japan)
Airport 24/7 5-city results - no surprise with best in Melbourne and lowest in Perth with last start.

Was this series filmed 2024?
It was filmed mostly in 2024, but I think some clips were shot earlier this year as well, based on the social media post I republished here three weeks ago. Past year could either be just 2024 or the past 12 months.

Great episode again tonight.
I notice that during the segment of a fuel leak from the pit underneath the tarmac, the logo of a Qantas plane right parking at the bay as well as the logo of a nearby Virgin plane were blurred out. I wonder why?

This is the Antonov that landed. According to Melbourne airport instagram it was 18th November 2024
Thursday 19 June
Episode 3: Customer Service
Duty Manager Dan must deal with holiday passenger numbers and a self-check-in outage and an incoming flight has a critical medical emergency on-board.
I was hoping it was the An-225. good looking birds those. than i remembered the russians bombed it
I noticed that as well and wondered what was the point of blurring the plane tails, and quite pointless when they are still easily identifiable when blurred. The red Qantas logo especially was still very obviously Qantas even when blurred…
Part of tonight’s episode was filmed in September last year. It mentioned two dozen horses arriving on a Cathay Pacific cargo plane from Europe to prepare for Victoria’s Spring Racing Carnival.
It was a 8-month-old baby boy who suffered anaphylaxis on board a Jetstar flight. He received a junior EpiPen before the plane landed in Melbourne. He then was transferred to a waiting ambulance on the tarmac and received further treatment in hospital.

Episode 4: Next Generation
A revolutionary airport trial, ten years in the making, faces cancellation. Australian Border Force new recruit Nelson makes a find.
UPDATE 27/6: the trial was the double pushback, with tugs pulling two separate planes out of the gates to the taxiway at the same time.
Thursday 3 July 7.30pm
Episode 5: Bigger and Bigger
Getting the world’s biggest passenger plane off the ground takes a team effort, and night works on a new taxiway.
UPDATE 3/7: Melbourne Airport CEO Lorie Argus appears in this episode, which spends about half the time on preparation for the departure of an Emirates A380 flight.
Thursday 10 July 7.30pm
Episode 6: High Alert
The Australian Border Force dog unit sniffs out potential criminal activity. Emergency Planning Manager Riki oversees a repatriation flight.
Thursday 17 July 7.30pm
Episode 7: Expect the Unexpected
Brad has just 90 minutes to turn around an Air India flight. A kangaroo keeps Trent on his toes and baggage handler Brodie battles jams.
Some part of today’s episode was filmed 1st October 2024
Probably due to legal reasons. Qantas wouldn’t be up for having their aircrafts and situations aired on a tv show.
