Minus the best players?

Thatā€™s a big assumption

From two teams? I think it would still be a pretty good game. Pay players a lot to do it and make it a special event. And it wouldnā€™t be a game for fans of the two teams in the GF but rather a game for the other 16 clubs. We are always going to have a compromised state of origin series, if it came to fruition, this is probably the best we could get.

The Suns confirmed on Wednesday night that Andrew had signed a five-year contract extension that will see him remain with the club until at least the end of 2030 ā€” with a contract clause potentially triggering an extra four years ā€” making him the longest-contracted player on their list.

The AFL yesterday announced a line-up of Aussie acts who will perform at the grand final on September 28. Cody Simpson will sing the national anthem (having already done it at the AFLW decider in 2022), while Christine Anu and her daughter Zipporah will perform together for the First Nations ceremony alongside the Songlines Youth Choir, and Mike Brady will return to sing Up There Cazaly during the retirees motorcade.

He performed during the 2nd season of 2022 (Season 7) - heā€™s alright, but still no Julie Anthony (who IMO does it best).

Both of these should be good.

I reckon Port will fire back tonight. Ken 2/3 times redeems himself in these ā€˜situationsā€™.

What will save Ken is a win tonight, and next week a slight loss. They canā€™t make the GF because they will bomb and it wonā€™t help their cause.

I donā€™t want to watch. I hope you are right. I just donā€™t think port have the talent. Ken Hinkley is one fantastic coach to get that list to second spot. What team in the top 8 would fit players like Jed McEntee, Frankie Evans, Quintin Narkle, Jordan Sweet, Charlie Dixon in them?

It might be a blessing that Dixon is now out with illness. Hasnā€™t looked right for a few weeks.

He wants another contract too. Football has passed him unfortunately and the way port played him hasnā€™t helped him. Putting the ball on his head and making him battle dirty is never good for a forwards longevity. You see other teams put the ball in front of their tall forwards, not port.

Thank god - maybe they might have better chance now.

Ken always somehow manages to have some sort of comeback - the question is can he take the team all the way to the Grand Final.

Well they have started playing like they should tonight letā€™s see if they can finish like a #2 spot team should.

Port are clearly fighting for their reputation tonight - poor umpiring isnā€™t helping though.

Thatā€™s a shame

Iā€™m happy for Ken Hinkley. Hopefully the media gives it to Ginnivan this week for his comments on social media, specifically the one on Brodie Grundyā€™s post about seeing him at the SCG (after they supposedly beat Port tonight).

Letā€™s fucking go :zap: :zap::zap:

No doubt the Ken haters will be silenced for the next week.

Hawks were clearly supported by the bad umpiring - no doubt the local mediaā€™s attention will turn to this tomorrow.

Well done to Port Adelaide, defeating the Hawthorn Umpires 11.9 (75) to 11.6 (72).

Well done to Sydney on advancing to the Grand Final.

I donā€™t think Sydney will be looking forward to next week given what we did to them last time they faced us - we tore them to shreds.

Iā€™m hoping for a Sydney v GWS grand final. Might not be popular in Victoria but I think it would be the most even football match-up.

Would help boost the game in NSW, which is one of the goals of the AFL to make it a more national competition.
