The AFL has banned recent Carlton signing Elijah Hollands for two matches and a suspended $5000 fine after he pleaded guilty to cocaine possession last month. He will miss the first two matches of 2024 - against Brisbane and Richmond - and won’t be able to play in the VFL during that period.

All sports have significant risks especially when it comes to collisions and concussions but to say this is exclusive to one particular sport is a lot of hog wash. All these medical people telling players to play softly just detracts from what afl is . They play knowing the risks . Shane Tuck is no different and his sister is an absolute fool for thinking that his “suicide” had to do with his injuries . I suspect it could have been more than that. Football is not a pussy game sounds like these medical “professionals” are trying to dictate how to run these sports.

Its a 6 to 12 month recovery period after surgery, not hard to rule him out for the majority of the season at a minimum

You really do come up with some disgraceful comments about a wide variety of topics and this no different.

The sad thing about CTE is it can only be diagnosed post mortem. His sister is not the fool you think she is. Nor are the medical researchers, nor is the coroner. The way concussion was treated on the field until recently is frightening to look back on.

Adelaide Crows have secured a 42-year lease for Thebarton Oval and an adjoining area encompassing part of Kings Reserve, from the City of West Torrens, paving the way for the club to lodge a development application of the new club HQ and training facility.


The Tasmanian government announced on Friday that the former Rosny golf course and nearby Charles Hand Park, right next to the Eastlands shopping centre, would host “state-of-the-art facilities for Tasmania’s AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW players”.

Herald Sun reports tonight that Melbourne player Joel Smith could face a lengthy fan after testing positive to cocaine last year. The test which found him positive was collected after the Round 23 clash at the MCG where Melbourne beat Hawthorn by 27 points.
