It’s way more common that we realise.

As reported, someone filmed him over the wall of the toilet cubicle, then shopped around the footage. Presumably more than one person entered the cubicle, but if I was someone known publicly I would be concerned when using the toilet just in case someone was filming me.

As a WCE fan, this is bloody rubbish.

Don’t need to play at the MCG if you won’t play finals

Has there ever been any talk of working towards an agreed standard ground size in the AFL? As having to play away from home is one thing, but playing on a different sized field is another.

I can imagine that this would need to take a while as some grounds may need to be reconfigured.

A standard ground size in the AFL will never happen, as it will rule out smaller grounds like the SCG or stadia with narrower playing fields such as GMHBA Stadium.

It will also mean that teams won’t be able to play preseason matches in regional towns as the ovals there have different sizes.

Preseason would be exempted you’d think.

Oh they have played preseason at tiny regional grounds, including in the Victorian town of Yea, back in 2010.

Pre-Season matches won’t exist in 3 years the way the clubs want it, and most of the “games” will be played at either a regular venue (Docklands, Geelong, Carrara, Sydney Showgrounds, perhaps Launceston) or at a venue that’s generally used for state league/AFLW games.

Yea Recreation Reserves oval is longer than and just a metre narrower than the MCG, hardly “tiny”.

Who’s behind the push towards homogenised grounds anyway? I think one of the great things about Aussie rules is the variable size of each ground at all levels.

The rule if anyone is interested:

135m to 185m long and 110m to 155m
