Dropping Round 1 this morning was nothing about keeping the AFL in the news given thereâs a big sporting event on was itâŠ?
Whaaaaat? No of course not. They always drop the fixture at 6am on a December Sunday!
Gather round âŠ
Response to name:
Not really a âbonus roundâ. Just another round of footy.
As a Collingwood supporter Iâm slightly let down with the fixture for a team who were one kick away from the grand final this year.
Only 2 Friday night games in the first 15 rounds that have been released. We lose a game against St Kilda that couldâve been played in front of lots of fans in Melbourne that is instead being played in Adelaide for Gather Round. A Sunday 4.40pm at the G is not desirable, neither is 2 home games at Marvel Stadium.
Nice of the AFL to give Good Friday to a team that hasnât made finals in about 10 yearsâŠ
Thatâs contractual. They have to play a certain amount of games there each season.
Hawthornâs members will be pissed off at the draw - wonder if it will have an impact on memberships
I know that, but this year we only had to have 1 home game at Marvel. Not the end of the world but youâd think for a big club like Collingwood youâd organise the Marvel distribution by giving the Pies 10 home games at the G and give that other game to another smaller club.
But thatâs the problem. Collingwood brings crowds, so is more appealing to the stadium.
There is a typo with the first paragraph - it should read $2.85 million per annum instead of just $2.85.
Maybe the GWS Giants arenât worth much more than $2.85 anyway
