Defensive powerhouse West Coast with a magnificent 52-0 run. Rarely do they ever go on a long unanswered run like that.
And Bombers have lost 24 of last 25 games. To be fair, look at their coaching staff.

The Eagles were leading by more than 50 points in the third quarter. But Essendon managed to reduce the margin to 30 at the final siren.
How can we get 3 more wins out of Essendon?
The new coach sugar hit didnât hit the bombers.
A question for our Perth members.
When attending âeveningâ AFL games at Optus, how do you feel about always being subjected to 5.30/6pm start times to suit eastern states TV?
Would you prefer to have West Coast/Fremantle night games at Optus start at 7.30pm/8pm local time instead of 5.30/6pm or do you prefer the earlier times, or youâre just used to it since itâs pretty much always been that way?
I went to the West Coast vs Sydney game during my Perth holiday in April, which began at 4:35pm. Pretty nice atmosphere if you ask me.
Though as a GWS member Iâm used to having our home matches played in twilight, which means I can get home and enjoy dinner once the match ends.
On the occasion that I was in Perth, I headed to Victoria Park straight after the match to enjoy dinner at a reasonable hour (say 8:00pm?).
ever since my return to following footy in 2024, i had the pleasure of seeing Dockers v. Swans last year at 3:15pm, and with @Biscuit45, seeing Eagles v. Swans at 5:35pm last year, and Eagles v. Swans this year at around 4:35pm, I donât mind the twilight-ish shart times - thereâs something about the footy at night, and Optus being all lit up nicely when exiting
idk, just seeing the sunset during the game has this nice vibe, and plus the atmosphere of the crowd is still amazing as per what @Avatar5991 pointed out!
"The players and the clubs have agreed to the (Gather Round) pageant that the Premier wants."

"10 players from every club will go in a pageant on the Friday (of Gather Round) with their coaches."

The gimmick no one needs or wants.
Isnât that just a parade? When they said âpageantâ, I thought of Miss Universe. Not male footy players dressing up in evening gowns and bikinis.
I think it is similar to the Christmas pageant, which takes place in Adelaide CBD on the second Saturday of November each year.
Then why do they call it a âpageantâ. Itâs a parade. Call it a parade.
Unless the male footy players are going to dress up in skimpy bikinis and we get to judge them, itâs not a pageant. Donât call it that.
Because itâs not exclusive to beauty pagaents.
A pageant is a spectacular, colourful public event, ceremony, or procession.
There are Beauty or Talent pageants but also Historical or Theatrical pageants.
We call those things parades. Why must you South Australians be different?
Itâs tradition. British vs American again. Historically pageants were cultural or religious and thatâs what the British called them. The concept of the beauty pageant originated in America and thatâs what youâre familiar with.
You mean thatâs what most people outside of South Australia are familiar with. ![]()
Either get the blokes in the bikinis or call it a parade. ![]()
Weird to not call it a parade, especially since we already have a parade before the GF
Calling it a pageant can cause confusion for some, whereas everyone already knows what the GF parade is so a GR Parade would be easy to understand
Lachie Neale has been tipped to leave the Lions at the end of the year and make a sensational switch to Collingwood as the gun midfielder mulls over his next move.
South Australians are a weird bunch - with their Stobie Poles and frog cakes
and their O-Bahns and ABs and Nick Xenophonâs and Crows and Port Powers
Just call it a parade and be done with it. Or give Gather Round to somewhere just as screwed up. Like Western Sydney. ![]()
