Why can’t we just keep our game in our own country?

Because if done well, it can open up the sport to new fans and new revenue streams that keep the sport sustainable and profitable.

We could but it does provide great economic growth, jobs and tourism exposure for the country if you can crack into other markets.

The AFL has given an official warning to Collingwood coach Craig McRae after he cheered on GWS player Toby Bedford from the sidelines, during yesterday’s match.

Brisbane Lions have been forced to relocate to Sydney ahead of their grand final rematch against the Swans, due to gale force winds and heavy rain caused by ex-Cyclone Alfred.

Brad Scott will remain as Essendon coach until at least the end of the 2027 season, after the club extended his contract.

However, it was pointed that St Kilda didn’t feature in the ad.

Wow Carlton dropped the ball tonight in the third quarter. Richmond came clawing back. Not sure if that means anything but their energy has been shockingly dismantle Carlton’s energy.

Desperate plays from Carlton saw many missed opportunities.

Goodbye, Ken.

More like Ken Hinkley, you are the weakest link… goodbye.

You also wonder why the South Australian clubs have struggled against the Pies in recent years - Port’s last win against them was in 2021, Adelaide’s last win was in 2016.

For most of this past decade, matches between the Pies and Power have been exclusively played in Melbourne (or Brisbane, in the case of 2020).

Not Ken’s fault. Such poor skill errors and lack of urgency. Ken has done a remarkable job with a list that is probably bottom 6 level over the last few seasons.

It should be remembered that Ken Hinkley was appointed as Port coach at a time when the club was lurching from one crisis to another. He instantly took them back up the ladder, and led them to a finals win against Collingwood at the MCG in 2013.

I also think this is Port’s worst defeat in round one of a season since 2000, when they lost to Essendon by 94 points in the first ever match at Docklands Stadium.

While I say that they shouldn’t removed Ken just yet, there should be some alarm bells going off at Alberton after tonight about the need to try to address these issues first.

You’ve probably just given the Sunday Mail it’s headline for tomorrow’s paper

I knew Collingwood would bounce back, it was just a matter of how hard they would, after being criticized and ridiculed following the 52-point loss they copped against GWS last Sunday.

But it wouldn’t look too bad if the Giants can beat Melbourne tomorrow afternoon; the Giants have won three of their last four against them (the outlier being a 67-point loss in round 5, 2022), the last two by less than a kick.

Gotta say it was more than just a worst defeat it was like watching two rock wheelers maul whole a football team. Collingwood just complete in synch.
