There is definitely a bias in the media with Victorian clubs. I recall port Adelaide a few years ago struggling to beat top 8 sides and were labelled as flat track bullies. Bulldogs have beaten 1 club (i believe) inside the top 8. They haven’t been labelled anything of the sorts.
Tigers v Bombers tonight ![]()
Scrappy game would be a generous way of describing it, but a win’s a win!

The AFL has banned West Coast player Jack Graham for four matches, for using a homophobic slur against a GWS opponent in Round 17. Graham self-reported to the Eagles which then referred the matter to the league’s integrity unit.
I was fortunate enough not to see it, but I’ve heard it described as the worst game of the year. Fair comment?
"Breaking news out of Marvel Stadium is they can't get the roof shut at the moment" 😳

With two hours on the clock it looks like we may be playing with an open roof at Marvel this afternoon! pic.twitter.com/p9HImqjuEd

Someone could always nip down to Bunnings to buy a few tarps to cover up the gap!
Odd how the Seven branding is still up on the former BCM site. Big red seven intact.
Wonder how old is the footage that was shown.
Clearly that’s not a live shot of Marvel stadium. We all know the big Red Seven has been removed.
It looks to be footage taken around April.
I don’t know why we still dealing with this in this day and age . As a gay person depending on the word it wouldn’t affect me if I was a player .
However I do wonder why the fuck people still think it’s okay to be using homophobic words in a game which children of all ages watch.

Tipping a Geelong-Adelaide grand final with Geelong defeating Adelaide by 125 points
Knowing ports luck it would be 118 points.
Fox Footy’s On the Couch crew have unveiled an AFL State of Origin proposal for 2026 in what would revamp the current bye structure.
The concept would see Victoria and Western Australia face off at Optus Stadium on the Saturday night of Round 12 next year amid a competition-wide bye, rather than the staggered five-week period endured this year.
Then, the following year, the Victorians would play South Australia, with the idea also consisting of extended squads and managed minutes for players in an attempt to prevent injury.
The blueprint also ensures no less than a six-day break, proposing the next AFL round starts on the following Friday night.
Mitch Cleary reported on The Agenda Setters this evening that Richmond are exploring the possibility of playing home games in Tasmania over the next two years, adding the proposal is still in the early days. Cleary said that the proposal would likely involve the Tigers’ home games at Marvel Stadium, which generally don’t draw big crowds.
I saw something on FOX Footy tonight mooting the possibility of a 3rd Western Australia team and a Northern Territory team, so 21 teams? Really?
That’s the least bad origin proposal so far.
I’ll still insist SA v Vic is the only thing that is Origin, but at least there’s no “All Stars” junk.
But what about the Allies! (NSW, ACT, NT, TAS)
Yeah I was all for this at one stage now I’m of the belief we should cut teams rather than expand. There is a big chance the game becomes incredibly hard to watch if the talent is just not there. There are about 3 clubs in Victoria they need to be asked to consider a move or a licence removal.
I wouldn’t support a full removal but could see a possible merger of two clubs.
