My feelings exactly.
It could do a Brisbane Lions 2024 to them, motivate them after the previous year’s GF heartbreak and look then what happened?
Or it could do a Port Adelaide 2008, Adelaide Crows 2018 or GWS 2020 and completely crush them, not even making finals after the previous years’ GFs?

However, many viewers at home were left feeling let down by the hitmaker’s ‘horrendously bad’ show, which opened with Love At First Sight.

What a dickhead! Almost everyone online thought the opposite and raved about it.
It initially did, must’ve been removed.
It was written by Daily Mail Australia ‘journalist’ Kinta-Walsh Cotton.

It requires a team effort to be this bad at this stage.
The largest comeback in a preliminary final. The largest time-on collapse in a grand final. No, it’s not only Brisbane’s effort - you could put anyone else there and the same would likely be done.
Closing the game out was Fremantle’s biggest strength. But on a Saturday with 4.52 million pairs of eyeballs, they didn’t. They gave up and proudly undid whatever had been done for 2 hours up until then.
It is a disgrace.

i think calling it a disgrace is harsh, they were 17 points up with four minutes left in a grand final against a side that was going for their 3-peat.
yes, the way they ended things was devastating, and Freo will be asking plenty of questions about what happened in those final minutes, but to say they gave up completely ignores Brisbane’s effort as well.
Freo fell seven points short of a premiership. heartbreaking? for sure, but a disgrace? not even close.

Interesting but a great appointment.
First McVeigh, now Longmire. Who is next to join who have been involved with Sydney.
As an Essendon member, looking forward to what 2027 will bring.

He could never have been made coach without inducing a revolt from the #standbyhird crowd, but he’s a good figure to have calling the shots internally in your footy club. I think Essendon are still a long way from success but at least they seem to be going the right way about trying to correct that.
I thought McVeigh was an excellent choice for coach too - Essendon man to satisfy that part of the supporter base, but a decent resume working in good environments elsewhere too.

Geelong premiership defender Jake Kolodjashnij has been forced into medical retirement.
The decision brings a sad end to his AFL career, two months after the concussion clause in his contract was first revealed.
The 31-year-old has played 35 games since signing the document in 2024, but just 11 this year and none since Round 18 when news of the side deal emerged.
