One is for 1116 (quirk off the rights needing a seperate call)
One for aflnation
One for senwa ( again its a right thing)

Triple M coverage of AFL finals week three
AFL Nation coverage of AFL finals week three
EDIT: Corbin Middlemas and Clint Wheeldon are the main commentators for ABCâs coverage of this weekâs preliminary finals.
I donât think itâs necessarily a quirk. They sometimes do carry the same coverage on SEN and Regional VIC.
Itâs more so they can sell different advertising and sponsorship to the metro and regional audience. Especially in big finals games.
No. It quite literally is a quirk. When the last rights deal was done, SEN and Crocmedia were separate companies, and so even though merged, still have to do their own coverage for certain games.
I doubt thatâs the reason these days.
In 2020-21, SEN even did seperate coverage for 2 out of 3 sessions of the Test Cricket for their 1170 Sydney audience, primarily so they could sell sponsorship to local Sydney advertisers.
Exactly, certain games. Certain games that Hutchy thinks he can monetise more!
SEN stations in Victoria, SA, Tasmania, WA, Darwin, Brisbane and Gold Coast will broadcast tonightâs Brownlow Medal count from 6pm AEST.

Match-Call
Callers: Tim Lane and Tony Leonard

I believe this might be Jacqui Reedâs first time as boundary rider on Grand Final day for AW? Previously I think itâs been Daniel Harford.
Correct on Jacqui
ABC Radio coverage in Melbourne and regional Victoria
With the Coodabeen Champions now on 3MP, Catherine Murphy and Matt Clinch will host a special Saturday Mornings show live from the MCG on Grand Final Day from 8.30am to 12pm. It will be followed by pre-game coverage from 12pm to 2pm and the match broadcast from 2pm to 7pm.
Triple M coverage
AFL Nation coverage
Fantastic news. For many radio rights holders have been demanding for live streaming of AFL matches on their own platforms. These stations will now be able to stream their entire coverage online and on mobile, from pre-match to post-match.
This new rights deal will also benefit fans in regional areas who will get more choices for match coverage, not just AFL Nation and ABC.
I notice that some elements of the new radio deal are already in effect: FiveAA has been broadcasting Power and Crows matches since the start of the new AFLW season.
The AFL and Southern Cross Austereo have additionally entered a content partnership to co-create productions for distribution on both the AFL website and app together with the LiSTNR app.
That explains why AFL exchange podcast finished up. Expect a ListnR replacement next year.
Details of SEN/AFL Nation coverage in the new radio deal
Details of SCAâs radio rights deal with the AFL
The new radio partnership covers the 2023 and 2024 AFL seasons and includes the exclusive FM radio rights in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth and rights on all other Triple M metro and regional radio stations around Australia, including SCAâs Canberra joint venture station Mix 106.3.
Details of 3AWâs coverage:
On face value (depending on how broadly or narrowly 3AW defines âmarqueeâ games), it seems 3AW will be covering fewer games during the home-and-away season than they have been in recent years.
You would think the 4 games would be Friday night, 1 Saturday afternoon, 1 Saturday night and the 3:20pm AEST Sunday afternoon game.
Terrific idea
ABC Radio Perthâs Clint Wheeldon and Ben Cameron are part of the pre-game show at the MCG on Grand Final day. Clint commentated both of last weekendâs preliminary finals with Corbin Middlemas at the MCG and SCG, and the duo will also call this afternoonâs match.
As part of the recently announced radio rights, each match will also feature on SEN Spirit Bunbury 621am, SEN Peel Mandurah DAB+, SEN Goldfields 1611am and SENTrack 657am Perth.
The Trade Radio contract extension finishes at the end of 2024, same as the recently announced AFL radio deal.
