1170 was meant to take the SEN call (Whateley, Hudson, Lyon, Cornes), 2SM and 2UE were both taking the AFL Nation call (Heverin, Russell, Wallace)
Itâs the first AFL Grand Final for all but Brad Sewell.
The ABC was the only radio station to have commentators at the ground, I believe the rest were calling the match off the tube.
Yes, just the ABC and 7.
Stations in Victoria and SA will reduce their AFL broadcast to one game per weekend while the locally produced K Rock football will continue in Geelong as will their significant sponsorship of the Geelong Cats.
AFL fans in regional Victoria (who usually listen to AFL Nation through their Grant stations) wonât be happy with the change. No doubt they will switch to their local Triple M or ABC stations for their weekly dose of footy from next year.
Herald Sun reports today that Gerard Healy has quietly left 3AW to join SEN as an expert commentator for the latterâs AFL coverage. Healy will still be heard on 3AW as co-host of Sportsday Victoria next year.
Dwayno mustâve told him all about it. You call, you get on SEN
Chris Judd has quit Triple Mâs commentary team, citing conflict of interest with his role as Carlton footing director. He wonât be heard on the stationâs Friday night coverage from next year.

SEN 1116 in Melbourne and SEN SA will broadcast the 2020 AFL Draft live at 7pm AEDT tonight.
Word has it, SEN pulled the pin on live coverage of the draft around 10:20pm, then went to pre-recorded content.
The actual draft went to almost 11:30pm.
Seems crazy to dedicate all that time talking up the Draft (including trade week radio) to pull the pin on it before it was anywhere near complete - just amateur hour there at SEN!
Maybe SEN didnât expect the draft to go way overtime?
Valid, although official broadcasters would get a blow-by-blow timing schedule from AFL HQ.
That said, if you expected it to finish by 10pm, wouldnât you have a few hours scheduled afterwards for instant fan reaction - like the good old days of Fineyâs final siren?
Grants swinging the axe in Geelong?
The 2021 AFLW season starts tonight when Carlton take on Collingwood at Ikon Park. Most of the coverage will be on ABC Sport digital radio and ABC Listen app, with 2-3 matches broadcast each week. It will also be on ABC Local Radio in some states.
Tonightâs season opener will also be covered by SEN in Victoria, SA and WA.
ABCâs commentary team for Carlton v Collingwood: Alister Nicholson, Joel Peterson, Chyloe Kurdas, Meg Hutchins and Jess Webster.

In its 25th year of AFL coverage, Triple M Footy has bolstered it's lineup with ex Hawthorn heavyweight, Jason Dunstall and Nick Riewoldt.

Triple M and SENâs coverage of the 2021 AFL season begins tomorrow (March 4) with Carlton taking on St Kilda in a pre-season match. Triple M and SEN will cover most matches of the AAMI Community Series, while the ABC and 3AW will each broadcast one game. See the broadcast guide at the AFL website for details.
UPDATE 14/3:
Collingwood player Darcy Moore is joining ABC Radioâs AFL coverage this season to provide special comments.
Race caller Matt Hill will commentate AFL matches for ABC Radio and Fox Footy this year.

Where and when we're rockin' footy!
AFLnation is slim pickings on Saturdays and Sundays eh. You can see the cost cutting measures right in front of your eyes.
At least it looks like Crucnh time goes back to 11am to 1pm, be interesting to see who is on it (my guess is Gerrard, Andy, Bob and Sam (Hargraves). Nice and cheap.

Itâs really light on generally. Most games having only 1 analyst and all bar 1 game having no boundary rider are the most glaring things
Triple M Perth taking plenty of games. Will be a huge change after just two games the past few years on Mix 94.5.
Alister Nicholson, Corbin Middlemas and Cameron Ling commentating the Tigers-Blues match for ABC Radio at the MCG. Ben Cameron has flown from Perth to Melbourne to be the boundary reporter tonight.

As Triple M stations in Melbourne and Adelaide should normally do.
