AFL Coverage

Clint Wheeldon is at the pool, so Dave Linsday for the two Perth games this week. Any other main callers absent because of the Commonwealth Games?

Al Nicholson, Quentin Hull, Corbin Middlemass, Matt Clinch and Brett Spring all on the coast, would normally call AFL.

Although Clinch at the G tonight with Andrew Mayes.

I heard from Triple M that Dennis Cometti is calling the West Coast v Geelong game. The Triple M that Dennis called was from a Melbourne Station

Lachy Reid, Andrew Embley, Tania Armstrong, and the father-son combo of Dennis and Mark Cometti have called all 4 games from Perth for Triple M so far this season.

You sure Clinch is on the GC? Didn’t he call 3 games for the ABC this weekend?
Car/Coll, Melb/NM and Ric/Haw.
Sprigg also called the two Perth games.

That’s true, was going off another post in the ABC thread.

Maybe they’ll join later on. The diving for instance is from Wednesday to Saturday.

Matt Clinch is listed as calling the netball, which hasn’t started yet.

Yes it has.

Netball has started, but Clinch has been featuring in the coverage tonight covering the hockey.

AFL Nation commentary line-up for Round 4:

After calling the swimming at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Clint Wheeldon returns to ABC Radio’s AFL commentary team tonight, calling Adelaide v Collingwood alongside Kelli Underwood.

Looks like ABC Radio in Victoria will not broadcast Essendon’s clash against Port Adelaide tomorrow to concentrate on the final day of Commonwealth Games (SEN will air the match). It will however cover the late game between Geelong and St Kilda from 4.15pm AEST.

Will that be the case in SA?

No, will be on ABC Adelaide.

Clint Wheeldon is doing the Lions-Tigers match today. Alister Nicholson is covering the hockey gold medal match at the Commonwealth Games.

Former St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt will join the Triple M AFL team from Round 5 this weekend and will make regular appearances on Triple M Melbourne’s The Rush Hour, The Hot Breakfast and Dead Set Legends, plus Triple M Adelaide.

Here is AFL Nation commentary line-up for Round 5:

Peter Donegan calling two games for SEN this week. Stephen Quartermain calling too this week for SEN.

Assuming Stephen Quartermain is still presenting Ten Eyewitness News in Melbourne next Tuesday, when the bulletin finishes at 6pm he will have to dash to the MCG, get a quick bite and prepare to call the Demons-Tigers game.

Game starts at 7.25. Nearly an hour and a half is heaps of time to get from the Ten studios to the MCG, even in peak hour - it’s only 3kms.

Even with 80000 expected, with no car parking available to the public meaning the streets will probably be cluttered with pedestrians trying to get to the ground?
