I thought there was a thread on this but appears not.
Televised by NWS-9 for the network, it will be Australia wide tomorrow:
How long has it been on 9?

Since 2002 I believe before that was with sas7 or sas 10 pre 1988 also the abc did a few of them as well too
It’s been on Nine for as long as I can remember, so since at least the early 2000s
The new route:
Santa Claus at the Town Hall is the biggest event to hit Adelaide since The Beatles in 1964?
For any non-locals, the old route was this. According to the wayback machine, the old route was first used in 2007.
Do you know the reasoning behind why the pageant is in early November rather than in December?
Since the pageant was founded by the department store John Martin’s (bought by David Jones in 1985), I’d say the chosen date might’ve been a marketing move; get people excited for Christmas in November to drive Christmas sales through two months.
Would’ve been more crucial in the Great Depression when people just weren’t buying. Give them something that will encourage them to buy.
2019 broadcast times as below. Viewers outside SA can see the pageant on 9Now for 28 days after the SA broadcast, instead of waiting for the replay on the morning of Christmas Day.
Will the Christmas Day replay still happen?
The Christmas Day replay is still on. As TVCynic posted, it will air from 7.30am to 9.30am local time across Australia.
@JohnsonTV Thank you.
The 2020 pageant is still expected to go ahead on November 14, but in a new format to make it COVID safe. Adelaide Oval was being considered as the likely new venue for the event, indicating a switch from a street parade to an arena event.
It’s good that he will be getting border exemptions.
The South Australian Government has given the green light to the 2020 event, which will be held at Adelaide Oval for the first time. The event will also be held at twilight for the first time in its 88-year history. Tickets are free but attendees will be chosen by ballot (ticketing details will be released next month). The pageant will still be shown live on Nine across South Australia, from around 7.30pm to 9.15pm ACST on Saturday November 14, according to the event website.
Ticketing details for next month’s pageant have been released. First you have to register for a ballot, which opens on Thursday, October 29 at 10am SA time (10.30am AEDT) and closes the next day at 10pm (10.30pm AEDT). Once the registration closes, Ticketek will run the ballot which will randomly allocate tickets and you will be notified via email if you are successful or unsuccessful. If you are successful, you will receive tickets digitally from Ticketek.
In all, 20,000 tickets will be available for the event at Adelaide Oval. More info can be found here
UPDATE 14/11: the special performance was revealed to be Rachael Leahcar.
