ABC News Blackouts during Commonwealth Games
Due to rights restrictions relating Commonwealth Games footage, we are unable to show any games footage on iview during the two week period of the Commonwealth Games.
This mainly affects our ABC and ABC NEWS channel live streams and means that we are unable to stream the following programs on the live streams between 4-15 April 2018.

How can TVNZ get the rights to the air the games on Ondemand but ABC can’t get the rights to air the games on iview?
I’m pretty sure that TVNZ is in a similar position to Seven being the sole TV broadcaster of the Commonwealth Games, the ABC only has radio rights AFAIK.

Tamara Oudyn is back presenting in Victoria from Friday - Sunday this week.
And again tonight (Friday).
Technical hitch at the start of this evening’s Victorian bulletin. As Ian Henderson was introducing the story about Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s 30th consecutive Newspoll loss, the background screen was showing Commonwealth Games for a few seconds before reverting to the St Kilda Pier photo. Then when Andrew Probyn’s report about the poll began, there was audio but no video for a few seconds before it went back to normal.

The ABC has tabled its responses to Senate’s Standing Committee on Environment and Communications regarding Emma’s report. The broadcaster has identified nine errors or omissions of fact in her story.
ABC’s response has not been published on the Senate website or the ABC website.
