Guy Stayner presenting in Victoria tonight.
Thatâs reallt bad
Unexceptable.
Do some Networks not bother with proofreading? First Nine and now the ABC, makes them look unprofessional, a quick spell check wouldnât hurt, itâs not hard, itâs only for a simple Headline.
The ABC Website has been updated to include the âflatâ logo.
Has been that way since at least the start of the week.
ABC has pulled an analysis article by Emma Alberici from the website after it failed to meet the national broadcasterâs editorial standards. The article claimed one in five of Australiaâs top companies had paid zero tax for the past three years.
Microphones failed on ABC News Queensland tonight. Crackly mic for Matt Wordsworth leading into the Olympics story, then the Commonwealth Games story began straight after with no introduction.
Then his mic didnât work for 5 seconds as he introduced Jenny, whose mic didnât work at all. They then cut back to Matt, whose mic didnât work for another 5 seconds, who promptly did the weather himself once his mic snapped back to life.
Overall a rollercoaster. A video wouldnât go amiss.
From last night
The ABC has admitted mistakes were made over the broadcasterâs coverage of the Cabinet Files. It also announced a restructure of senior positions. As part of the changes, deputy director of news Craig McMurtrie will take on a new role of executive editor, ABC News, and will âoversee the editorial and quality standards for all broadcast and digital network news outputâ according to head of news Gavin Morris. Managing editors from the digital, television, radio news, and fact-check divisions will report directly to McMurtrie. John Lyons will continue to oversee the ABCâs investigative and in-depth journalism units.
