ABC News Presenters and Reporters

Must be coming from Sydney tonight then?

I’m sorry I meant Jade Barker.

Ruby is doing tomorrow afternoon.

Point still stands. Jade can’t read two different bulletins at the same time which have a different length.

Queensland weather presenter Jenny Woodward received her OAM medal at a ceremony at Government House on Thursday. She was awarded for her service to the broadcast media, particularly to television, having been the weather presenter since 1986 on ABC Queensland.

Good for her but yikes, talent was already very thin at Southbank.

Don’t think they get paid very well at the abc as an on the ground reporter.

Not to mention she was clearly being lined up to become a future full-time presenter.

I think it’s a risky move given what is/has been happening in the media industry in the UK (changes at BBC News, and impending redundancies at ITV).

Not really… the UK has nearly 3 times the population of Australia. Even with all the media cutbacks (which are a worldwide problem, not just in Britain) there are still many more opportunities in London than in Melbourne.

What a silly comment. London vs Melbourne for media.

Has Nakari Thorpe started presenting the weekend NSW Bulletin yet?

I believe they changed it to just Lydia Feng on weekends as Nakari went on maternity leave.

Yes, I don’t ever recall seeing Nakari present the NSW bulletin. Not sure who is the back up behind Lydia.

Who knows because Lydia seems to rarely ever be away!

Agree, she’s been very reliable. And a good presenter too.

Maybe some of the Victorian staff should be seconded to NSW to learn how to work full time. :joy:

Jeremy isn’t absent very much either.
