Apart from a few occasions when Madeline Morris and Nate Byrne filled in on ABC News, I don’t think their presenters cross over that much at all.
I think it’s a problem in ABC Victoria. It’s almost as if you could take days off at your own pleasure (and before anyone says anything, yes I know people are entitled to leave) rather than being structured which is common at pretty much all workplaces. You don’t see this in any of the Sydney productions like ABC News Mornings or ABC News New South Wales.
Yes Ishkandar too. The thing is they’re all very talented presenters but if they were to promote their presenting lineup as they did back in 2018 when Ian Henderson retired then they should stick to it.
To be fair, Tamara has young children and things happen unexpectedly. The frustrating thing is when you see her fill a shift on 774 or RN over doing the 7pm.
If this disastrous national Sunday bulletin ever happens they’ll need a bit more consistency in the lineup.
That’s true, but she’s by far not the only person with young kids who’s been in that role, but she seems to be the only one running on like 50% attendance constantly.
There is obviously something strange else at play, and I am sure if management wanted to sort it they would.
So Tamara fills in on 774 and Radio National and Mary fills in on Local Radio and Radio Drive, what does Paul Higgins do when he’s absent from ABC News?
ABC News Sydney’s Kathleen Calderwood is now the East Asia correspondent, still based in Taipei. She has been taking on the role for nearly two months now. Yesterday she filed a report on the current floods hitting the region around Chinese capital Beijing.
