A bit more of a local flavour on ABV in the ‘90’s.
Yesterday (27th) marked the 40th anniversary of the debut of the Ansell and Wall ABC News theme. It debuted on 7 pm bulletins on Monday, 27th January 1986.
The 1986 arrangement lasted until 1998, when a new arrangement by Ansell and Wall with a heavier focus on brass was used until 2005. It made a comeback in 2024 with a new arrangement by David McDonald using the original 1986 masters and was remixed once again in 2025, which is the one currently in use.
