Can anyone say when the Adelaide studio will be upgraded?

WA followed only 6 months behind QLD. @ABCNews any hints for SA’s timeline? Or the other cities?

Great to see Perth take over from midnight/10pm (western Time). Love the city background.

Does Perth do updates until 4am (east)? Melbourne then takes over operations at 5am?

ABC QLD tonight reporting on the power outage - very close to another jacketgate.

Darwin has designs ready for their new set but not sure on when they will push forward with it.

Adelaide will probably be next?

Blooper, the SA COVID press conference cut out and it went to the Melbourne set camera where all 3 backdrops were shown

You would think they would have a better background for Afternoon Briefings. It’s an odd shot of Melbourne.

It’s bloody awful.

And it’s about two years out of date. They should have got a hybrid newsroom-skyline backdrop like the Perth one for it.

Does that mean 7pm bulletins are now in HD in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth?

As I’m watching ABC News Canberra tonight and it looks to be SD to me, so must be another one in line for an upgrade at some point.

Brisbane and Perth are SD still.

AFAIK, only Sydney & Melbourne have been upgraded to HD. No idea if/when other markets will finally receive ABC News in 1080i.

Interesting they didn’t go for “lutruwita” (roughly pronounced loo-tra-wit-haa) which is Tasmania in palawa kani, the Tasmanian Aboriginal language.

I wonder how you know the Darwin design information? Do you have any tip-offs or something?

Isn’t the practice acknowledging the Country they are broadcasting from? In this case, nipaluna. And these things would be ticked off by the local traditional owners groups.
