Another shot (via twitter @lenoretaylor)
Hope someone is going to give that top of the desk a wipe, thatâs filthy.
Surely that will be distracting for presenters when people walk past?
Maybe theyâll install some blinds or some one-way film?
Oh no. It looks so busy.
Quite a nice set. The displays on the right however should display finance or some sort of general headlines thing as itâs a 24/7 channel.
It looks like itâs a feedback display for the anchor. They may only have that set up for rehearsals. Easy to see how itâll be used for crosses, etc. wait to see if/how itâs used tomorrow.
Wow what an upgrade!! And to think that a few months ago half the lights on the set werenât working
Agreed thatâs where mostly the cameras will be majority of time on air. I imagine that big screen will be used for interviews ie Skype and links etc.
I actually really like it. I do like the dark features in the set. Fits in well with the Melbourne Set and look.
Desk looks pretty drab without any lighting and those weird âwingsâ.
Everything else looks great though. New backdrop is awesome, gives such a sense of spaciousness. And the lighting looks perfect in contrast to the other Sydney set.
Makes sense why part of the new newsroom backdrop is similar to Sky Uk as Lightwell did their virtual backdrops too.
They also designed the Side Panelling for the old set when ABC News relaunched back in 2017.
Lightwell did all the backdrop loops for the State bulletins too so Iâm wondering if theyâll also get a refresh from tomorrow night seeing that Melbourneâs is very dated now with all the construction there in the last few years.
If there are going to be new backdrop loops, youâd think theyâd wait until next Sunday night when itâll be time to bring in the nighttime look with DST over in five of the eight states & territories?
Yeah that is true! Just found this on their Insta, Iâm wondering if the âcollection of digital backdropsâ is for ABC?
Why donât they do any wide shots or angles? Itâs so dull
