I don’t get it
Why is she broadcasting from the northern lights?
It looks like An outer space sci fi movie cómplete with green dust particles.
What a strange choice. It’s about the world as in people places politics events cities news etc right?
This looks like a science show
That’s a good take on it.
I actually don’t mind it though.
It will be interesting to see how the transition to the 11pm bulletin.
Plus, falling stars.
At this time of year?
At this time of day?
And in this part of the country, localized entirely within the ABC’s Ultimo Studios?
I like it, although, for some reason it doesn’t look completely lit.
ABC is putting a lot of effort lately. Something is still missing the mark for me. Everything is so dark.
Not to sound rude, but I think it’s using internal talent and design. Public servants who have been in “creative design” jobs for decades.
When 7 and 9 use in house, the result is average too. Both sets and GFX. We see this over and over.
When you go out of house for sets and design - the result is much better
The background choice is so bad it’s actually funny. How did this even get past the first clearance process?
A nighttime generic lightwell skyline would be ideal, but the ABC is probably too cheap to pay for that. Maybe even a moving world map like AJE?
The Galaxy
She looks like she’s on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Captain Kirk or Spock walk on at some point.
Really ridiculous. When someone’s creative ego gets in the way of common sense
A bit late to the party. The set itself looks good for the program (better than that Powerball thing they had before), but what’s with the star background? Looks like a segment for Stargazing Live.
NSW Bushfire State Memorial
Sunday 23 February at 11:30am AEDT
A State Memorial Service to commemorate the firefighters that died in the recent bushfire crisis across NSW and the communities that are rebuilding their lives.
The one-hour service will be held at Qudos Bank Arena at Sydney Olympic Park and include a special performance by Delta Goodrem.
Screenshot of an Instagram story showing the rear of a possible news set.
Possibly one of the curved walls from the NSW set but the video pans around to show that the person filming is in the news channel control room and from memory there is a glass panel between the news channel control room and the studio (see pic below).
Holden: The End of the Road
Thursday 27 February at 7:30pm AEDT
Holden’s rich history is closely tied to Australia’s identity, building iconic and much-loved cars, including the FJ, EH, Kingswood, Monaro, Torana and Commodore. The Holden brand is about to disappear forever.
Repeated on ABC main channel at 10pm Thursday
They keep using the news breakfast weather graphics for the prerecorded weather bits during the mornings block. Sloppy.
