Great to see the support with journalists sharing their worst on-air blunders on Twitter today #PutYourBloopersOut.
It’s been entertaining to see some of those and remember some of the really hilarious ones.

Good ol’ News.com.au, just whipping up an outrage storm as per usual.
This is from the same news organisation which complains about PC gone mad and other bullshit stories. Hypocrites.
Obviously they have no vested interest in painting the ABC in a bad light, and have no history (as an organisation) of casting aspersions against them at every opportunity.
Nope, totally fair and balanced.
The length of time it has taken for this denial to surface suggests to me someone may not be wanting to admit to having made a bad decision. Various journos and media commentators sought comment from the ABC last night and were unable to get a straight answer from them concerning Ms Exelby’s status.
It’s entirely possible the ABC didn’t realise that many interpreted their statement that way or notice the scale of the outrage until later in the day as well.
Either is possible. A PR disaster regardless.
Exactly, they should have shut down the story last night but they let it fester for nearly 18 hours to the point where it was water cooler talk this morning + being on the front page of The Daily Telegraph
But maybe they thought it would advantageous because often bad publicity can turn out to be good publicity.
The Daily Telegraph:
The memorable mistakes made during live Aussie TV news broadcasts
Includes a compilation video.
Not really the best examples of the genre. Would have preferred the video showing more examples where the newsreader didn’t realise they were live.
Has the ABC still not made any on air comment about this? Not even on The Drum, when it has been one of the hottest topics of the day…
Not good ABC, not good at all!
Apparently Natasha will be heard from next Monday between 6am-8.30am on KIIS for one week replacing Brooklyn who is also off on holidays for the week.
Another day, another blooper.
Yeah that’s pretty ordinary to leave the audio on during the closer, they should know better though in keeping it professional until they’re completely off air.
Surely appearing on a radio station which is portraying the ABC in such a negative way (i.e. that she was sacked) is a big no-no in the ABC’s employee guidelines? Especially after the denial was put out by management.
I mean, she could actually lose her role at the ABC by accepting this KIIS job, right?
Really can’t get over how disrespectful these hashtags have become considering they began after the death of Phil Hughes.
She probably has more possible job opportunities thanks to this though.
Not to mention her own company she would be working on, XLB Media.
Nobody tell news.com.au
I don’t find the use of the term for one cause disrespectful to another. The term has developed to mean more than its original use. That’s the nature of language. It evolves.
I wish the ABC luck in getting anybody to refer to this channel as anything other than ABC News 24. Every piece of reporting I’ve seen today has referred to it as News 24. Such a stupid decision to ditch a name they’ve spent six years establishing for something so generic.
