Ishkandar Razak again presenting a combined 7pm bulletin tonight, on ABC News channel nationally and main channel in Victoria.
It looks like it. I vaguely remember seeing it this morning.
Is this his first time presenting a bulletin?
No, he did that last night. And I am sure he presented a similar bulletin a number of times in the past.
Yeah. His definitely more suited to reporting IMO.
He’s been the weekend presenter for a few years now, and was filling in on bulletins and News Breakfast before that
Isk has been the weekend newsreader in Victoria for a while. And frequently weekdays with Tamara’s regular absences. He does make a lot of mistakes.
Was weird that they made no effort to modify the bulletin for a national audience. Right down to only doing the usual weather for Victoria. It could have had a more national focus just for the occasion.
There’s already a dearth of local news on the Victorian 7pm, why should the core audience miss out for a 13 people choosing to watch the news channel over their local bulletin at 7pm.
Ha! True.
I’ve never understood why they cannibalise the audience for local 7pm bulletins in EST/EDT time zones that way.
Joe O’brien back presenting mornings for the first time since he moved to PM>
He’s done it a few times since moving to evenings
News Channel not taking today’s Press Club address - Ros Childs farewelled viewers on ABC-TV before the bottom of the hour headlines, before taking a major economic speech from Sussan Ley.
Should happen more often IMO - have most of the press club events only on ABC-TV, with a live stream on YouTube, and have the News Channel stick with the rolling news format. Obviously should still take any major speeches from leaders, etc.
Joe O’Brien presenting the 12pm - 4pm shift today. Ruby Cornish scheduled to fill his regular shift.
This is a ridiculous situation. Joe’s regular Evening spot taken by Ruby Cornish for Thursday and Friday while he “fills-in” on the Afternoon shift. Why can’t the ABC appoint regular presenters for Thursday and Friday …. it’s been a mish-mash for a few years now.
ABC’s Your Say to unpack changes to social media laws in live national forum
How Australians access social media is about to change thanks to tougher new laws designed to protect under 16s. But not everyone agrees with the changes, which is why the ABC wants you to have Your Say in this Digital Dilemma.
On Tuesday 14 October, ABC Local Radio and ABC News will break-down different aspects of the changes across the day, culminating in a live national forum at 8.05pm AEDT across ABC Local Radio and the ABC News Channel .
The extensive coverage will give all Australians the chance to join a national conversation about how the laws will work, whether they’ll keep kids safer online and the implications for all social media users.
Led by ABC Melbourne Mornings Presenter Rafael Epstein and ABC’s National Technology Reporter Ange Lavoipierre, the forum will feature a panel of experts who will answer important questions including how the laws will work, what’s technically possible and how social media sites will be regulated.
ABC’s national Your Say initiative empowers Australians to actively participate in the national conversation, providing a platform where everyone can have their voice heard, raise the questions that matter most to them and share their views on the issues that shape our country.
To submit questions and share your view on the changes to social media laws – head to abc.net.au/yoursay.
Catch all the coverage and updates via ABC listen, ABC Radio, the ABC NEWS website and app, ABC iview and the ABC NEWS channel.
I like Joe o briens ability to go off script and use resources around him,and his brain without opinion. Very good quality live news reading.
Coming from Canberra this afternoon. Hate to say it, but this presenter is not cutting it.
Maybe everyone in Melbourne called in sick or was caught working on their cooking show or podcast.
