I think they might of started using this for the opener at the start of the year. Although they only use it occasionally.

Yep. Know where it is, but just saying I’ve never seen it used for news. The Pacific and Breakfast use it, but not seen on news.

I agree, the camera often is too high for the presenter when they are standing, creating a fore-shortening effect … it needs to be adjusted for short presenters like Johanna Nicholson and very tall presenters like Dan Bourchier.
Incidentally, does anyone know what has happened to Dan? at the start of the year his stated role for 2024 was presenting News Mornings (Th/Fri) and NC News (Sat/Sun) on NC. I must admit every time I viewed him in these roles he didn’t seem too enthusiastic? However he has completely disappeared since late April, the roles mainly being picked up by Ruby Cornish.

ABC must’ve not been impressed with his handling of the Bondi Attack coverage.
Doubtful. Presenters rarely have any say over the news content and direction.

Seems to me that the channel can cover breaking news events in the US better than those in Australia.

Watched the intro for the new Afternoon Briefing yesterday - graphics were OK, but the music was too slow for an afternoon program - old intro was perfect.
