Hate to say it but Joe has also lost some spark since moving to evenings.
The whole thing is just very robotic. Long boring live crosses, sport chats where they just ask the sport presenter some questions and get some brief answers. Reporters who often look like they’ve just rolled out of bed or have never been told how to stand in front of a camera.
I know the ABC has always been different but I feel like they’ve gone down a path over the last day decade or so that’s really really dull most of the time.

Given the APN is in Southbank I expect the new show will come from Melbourne. Dan is based in Canberra/Sydney. A lot of the presenters work shorter weeks, it won’t be hard to find him a shift. Saying that, he needs a lot more time in the field before he’s close to being a high profile presenter.
ohhhh, the ABC has diversity targets that they work really hard to adhere to, unlike the other broadcasters. Hence Dan, who hits a few of those targets, is likely to be hot property when it comes to finding a prominent role.
It was very unfortunate for Craig Allen who’d been waiting for the Canberra 7pm job for 20 years, only to be leap-frogged by a Sky News import.
They dedicated a good 7-8 mins on it plus interview a few people throughout the day, so not rolling but Australian networks seem to do too much rolling coverage a lot.,
