But even in that case the clock and AEST text still looks stretched to fill the box.

What’s with the white box on all your vids?

It looks like it is blocking out a watermark from a screen recorder

I wish that ABC were using yellow instead of the light blue. Yellow, black and white has been shown to work in their apps and online, the light blue is nice but just seems a tad off.

A post was merged into an existing topic: ABC News

Well what do you know…

The national broadcaster is reportedly moving to bar Exelby from future on-air roles after a hilarious clip of her appearing to daydream while the camera cut back to her went viral. A spokeswoman has, however, denied this.

Well they might want to do a better job of getting this information out there, the story even made the morning news on Nine.

From TV Tonight

Updated: ABC News Director Gaven Morris said, “Live television is a demanding art and slip-ups will happen — our presenters are humans, not robots. We take on-air standards extremely seriously, but we don’t expect perfection. No one would ever be punished for a blooper and, while it isn’t appropriate to publicly discuss confidential details of people’s personal work arrangements, this has not happened to Natasha.

“Media reports that Natasha has been “banned”, “barred” or “fired” are untrue. Natasha is a freelance journalist who works as a contributor. She has been rostered for various shifts and has been assured since yesterday that we want that to continue. While she is not currently doing any on-air shifts, this will be subject to normal performance management. I have spoken to Natasha and conveyed our regret that this has attracted such attention.”

Where did the story originate? The news.com.au article posted here?

Can’t wait to see how Media Watch is going to cover all this, considering they started it all.

Great to see the support with journalists sharing their worst on-air blunders on Twitter today #PutYourBloopersOut.

It’s been entertaining to see some of those and remember some of the really hilarious ones.

Good ol’ News.com.au, just whipping up an outrage storm as per usual.

This is from the same news organisation which complains about PC gone mad and other bullshit stories. Hypocrites.

Obviously they have no vested interest in painting the ABC in a bad light, and have no history (as an organisation) of casting aspersions against them at every opportunity.

Nope, totally fair and balanced.

The length of time it has taken for this denial to surface suggests to me someone may not be wanting to admit to having made a bad decision. Various journos and media commentators sought comment from the ABC last night and were unable to get a straight answer from them concerning Ms Exelby’s status.

It’s entirely possible the ABC didn’t realise that many interpreted their statement that way or notice the scale of the outrage until later in the day as well.

Either is possible. A PR disaster regardless.

Exactly, they should have shut down the story last night but they let it fester for nearly 18 hours to the point where it was water cooler talk this morning + being on the front page of The Daily Telegraph

But maybe they thought it would advantageous because often bad publicity can turn out to be good publicity.

Not really the best examples of the genre. Would have preferred the video showing more examples where the newsreader didn’t realise they were live.

Has the ABC still not made any on air comment about this? Not even on The Drum, when it has been one of the hottest topics of the day…

Not good ABC, not good at all!

Apparently Natasha will be heard from next Monday between 6am-8.30am on KIIS for one week replacing Brooklyn who is also off on holidays for the week.
