ABC New Year's Eve Coverage

The DM and Newscorp articles are so predictable. It’s the same thing every year;

Last year Newscorp wrote ABC’s New Year’s Eve broadcast is slammed for “amateur” performances

DM wrote Broadcast was slammed as 'woke s*show’ by viewers

I have absolutely no doubt though that if all five major FTA networks had the rights, all of their respective coverages would be ripped apart, provide fodder for outraged tweets (and then turned into Daily Mail & news.com.au articles) and make people irrationally angry.

NYE coverage is one of those things whereby no matter how a network handles it, they’ll inevitably annoy more people than satisfy because everyone expects it to reflect their individual musical/celebration preferences.

A “Behind the scenes” of Robbie William’s Better Man - aka a commercial for his film - is now airing.

I want to see a concert. Not this filler.

Robbie Williams has arrived. at 11.26pm (and not the expected 11.45pm mark).

How fucking good is Robbie Williams.

Definitely the best part of tonight’s concert.

I’m glad I tuned in at the right time.

This is elite. Amazing what a fully fledge international music artist can do for a show like this.

I don’t think I’d ever buy a Robbie album, but he is a brilliant live performer and entertainer. He showed this at the AFL GF and he’s showing it again tonight!

My complaints aren’t about the wokoness, whatever it is. The presenters are painful. I’ve been watching Rifftrax all night.

I seriously considered buying tickets to his concert on the back of his AFL grand final performance (ended up having a conflict)

Where do I complain about Robbie saying shit and shit hot on the ABC?

Yes, I also did complain that Jana Wendt said bottom.

Now singing our National Anthem - You’re The Voice

Note to ABC Management - get him back (or some other major act who is in Australia already) to headline next year.

I have an idea to stop people bitching about the coverage.

Since it is taxpayer funded, it shpuld be made independent of the broadcaster, rotated between the ABC, 7, 9 and 10, and all they do is air it. No cross promotion, no network branding, no nothijg.

You’re selling Sydney and Australia. Not whatever crap the broadcaster thinks is good.

Also, my dad is losing his mind, he thinks the fireworks are on 10 Bold.

The timing into the countdown was perfect.

Casey was another stand-out singer

We’ve discussed this before. No commercial network wants to air it these days. They are not willing to spend money to produce it and certainly wouldn’t air it if there’s no financial incentive or promotional value.

Probably since ABC Me was axed - however ABC Family exists.

Coverage ends at 12:15am. Time to keep the party going with rage.
